wedding review 12-18-04
Reception: Temple Beth Torah - A++++++unbelievable! the service was impeccable, the food was outrageous, the decor was romantic/intimate/warm, etc. Perfect. Wine Tasting room was a hit. Rabbi Todd Chizner was fantastic. Everyone said it was the most personal ceremony ever. He was funny and sweet and made the ceremony short! 2 other couples asked for his number afterwards. FM me for specifics since I know this is not a popular venue I will not list all the details...
Band - Renegade A++++++ People tried to book them that night. All their business cards were given out. DJ fans became band lovers. They were so amazing. Dave Clark is so much fun to work with.
Spitz & Peck A++++++ So easy to work with prior to the wedding. Flowers came out better than expected. Worked with Bobby and Joseph at Cedarhurst location. High centerpieces with mixed flowers and calla lillies. Mine and bridesmaids' bouquets were all calla lillies. My wedding colors were black and white so all flowers were white.
B rett M atthews A++++++ My pictures are outrageous! Used Chris and Rob. They were so fun to work with and unobtrusive. Can't say enough about them.
Hair and Makeup A++++++ Maureen and Claudia Pedala. I was happier than I could have imagined with the way I looked. I gave out their info to a number of people at the wedding. They are also the sweetest women ever. Will definitely use them again. They traveled to me and did me, sister, mom, mother-in-law, and 2 bridesmaids.
Dress: A++++++ Reem Acra at Kleinfelds (combination of 2 dresses). Don't remember saleswoman's name (Debbie maybe?) but she was great. Ellie was seamstress. Loved my dress and had a great experience there.
Headpiece/Veil/Earrings -A++++++ Nelson D'Leon. he custom-made all the items and they were beautiful. The veil was the exact same one I tried on at Kleinfelds (made by him too, not just similar look) and I got it for 60% cheaper by going directly to him. Loved everything and I recommend him for eyebrows too!
Invitations: A++++++ C'est Papier. custom-designed. Used friend of family for invites and calligraphy.
Programs - A++ customweddingdesigns.com. service was good. hard to get in touch with but final product exactly what I wanted.
Menus/Favors A++++++ friend who is starting her own business. favors were a donation to Michael J. Fox Foundation and she made little fold-over cards with bows to let guests know. FM for her contact info.
Bridal Shower -A++++++ Waterzooi. It was so great. We had 55 people and a sit down brunch. The food was delicious and people couldn't get over the stockpots of lobster mussels - no one could finish it. I highly recommend having a shower here. It was very reasonably priced too. Invites from polkadotdesigns.com - very cute and reasonable
Misc - A++++ yarmulkes.com (but went to store directly to save a few $$$) for yarmulkes. ketubah.com for ketubah. rings from friend. insurance from wedsafe.com, bridesmaid gifts from lulu guiness in soho (travel size and purse size cosmetic cases), groomsmen got poker sets and personalized beer mugs, Melville Marriott for guests and brunch - service was great. Gifts for parents - jewelry for dad, lladros for moms, painting/restaurant gift certificate for his dad/stepmom
Honeymoon A+++ Kauai - Hyatt. weather was not good so didnt come away with the best feeling for Kauai but it was relaxing. Maui - Grand Wailea - OMG! Most unbelievable hotel ever. We loved it and weather was great.
I can honestly say that not one thing went wrong that day. There were no behind-the-scenes mishaps. All my vendors were amazing and there was nothing that I would have changed. Feel free to FM me for specifics and questions.
