Wedding Review

In general I was pleased with all of my vendors, with the exception of Flowers by Brian.

Ceremony and reception location
Venetian Yacht Club, Babylon, NY
Great service through the entire process, from the day we first when to see the hall and what they had to offer until the wedding was over. The day of the wedding they were very accommodating and moved our ceremony outside (after they had already set up inside) when the weather cleared up. The food was very good, much better and more variety than your typical wedding hall menu selection. The view is amazing.

My gown and veil, mother-of-the-bride gown, bridesmaid’s gowns. Alterations for all of these gowns.
Blanchee Boutique, East Rockaway, NY
Can’t say enough great things about them. I loved all of the gowns and the owner and staff are extremely friendly, service is very personal.

Band
The Next Faze, Great Neck, NY
We thought they were great. They played a large variety of music and had a lot of energy. Many of our guests said they were the best wedding band they’ve ever heard.

Florist
Flowers by Brian, Mineola, NY
This is my only negative review. Overall their work was nice but service was terrible. They were friendly at first and then became very rude towards the end. I told them multiple times that I am not a big fan of the color pink, when I went to view the bouquets the day before the wedding the BM bouquets were almost completely pink, huge attitude when I asked they be changed. They gave us the wrong balance and again a huge attitude when we questioned it. The day of the wedding they were about an hour and a half late dropping off the flowers and forgot a boutonniere. The BMs and I have no flowers in majority of our pictures and it looks pretty silly. They did eventually bring the missing boutonniere but it was the wrong one. When my mom called to complain about the lateness and missing flower she received a cold response (no apology for the lateness or missing/wrong bout), they were supposed to call her back and never did. She then wrote a letter to complain, “Brian” wrote back that he was sorry and was going to send an arrangement of flowers to her house. This was in October, I’m writing this in late December and no flowers have arrived to date. I would not recommend them at all.

Abe was great to work with. He was very calm and flexible with us. We had a DVD with our proofs three weeks after the wedding. Website is not that good (mostly old wedding pics on it) but if you meet with him in person you’ll see more current work.

Videographer

I hardly knew they were there during the wedding. They said hello when they arrived, asked us to come outside once during the party for a picture, and otherwise just did their thing and let us do ours. I’m pleased with the final product as well, it’s very cute and tastefully done.

Tuxedos
Dante Zeller, Westbury (and various NYC locations), NY
The tuxedos were nice and we liked that they had a variety of locations, Long Island as well an in NYC (several of the=2 0groomsmen live in the city). They are a little slow though, when my dad and brother went to get measured they made an appointment in advance but still ended up having to wait a very long time (although I think there may have been a new person working there that day, so could have just been a fluke).

Limos

They were on time, drivers were friendly, and cars were clean. I selected Dynasty because they were reasonable in price and were willing to do a pick-up/drop-off only package. We only needed to go from the hotel to reception hall.

Hotel
Courtyard Marriott
Farmingdale, NY
New hotel, clean rooms, outdoor patio area to hang out after the party ended. A bit pricey in my opinion but I selected them because of the free shuttle service to and from the venue for guests staying at the hotel.

Headpiece
Tri Country, Levittown, NY
I really liked my headpiece, I thought it was very unique. Good selection and very reasonable prices here.

Hair
Amani, Lynbrook, NY
Carol did my hair, my sister’s hair, and my niece’s hair. We were all happy with how our hair came out.
