Ok…let me just say…I know it’s so cliché….but….my wedding day was the most amazing day of my life. I married the man of my dreams, celebrated with our families, got a little drunk, and performed with my family and my new husband– the highlight of the night.

A lot of people then and now comment to us how it was the best wedding they’ve been to. That means a lot to someone who didn’t know what the hell she was doing….ME! So thank you …both girls from LIW and Knotties…..for all of your help and ideas. I don’t know what I would’ve done without you.

Ok…so here we go with the review….I’m not that good at this stuff….so…sorry if I ramble.

I’m listing my 2 favorite vendors first. Jenn the Hair Genie, and Thea –makeup- (Lancome Counter Smith Haven Mall, Lake Grove)

Jenn A+++++
I had 2 hair trails before going to Jenn…and was disappointed with them. I was concerned what to do with my hair. I then scheduled a trial with Jenn and was amazed on the outcome. I booked her immediately. The day of the wedding, it was pouring rain and windy. I was so nervous about everything. She kept me AND my family in check. She calmed me down. She did an amazing job on everyone’s hair! Her personality rocks! THANK YOU JENN!



Thea A+++++
What a woman….I booked her on the spot when I had my trial.
The day of the wedding, she also calmed everyone down, made everyone smile, and did an amazing job on everyone’s makeup. She also has an amazing personality. She is very talented. I can’t believe I found her. She made everyone so beautiful. THANK YOU THEA! YOU ROCK!



The Westbury Manor A+
AWESOME! The food ROCKED, the maitre‘d ROCKED the bridal attendant ROCKED…I felt like a rock star. They accommodated us with a lot including: My Mom bringing in cake the NIGHT before the wedding (that she made), they let us store my sister’s drum set in the favor room …preventing a HUGE HUGE hassle, etc. It’s such a beautiful place. They set up the ceremony beautifully, and I heard the CH was great. I did hear it was a little “crowded”, but everyone still had an amazing time.
Sean and I got to chow down on our CH food upstairs…alone. It was great. It gave us time to relax and brace ourselves for the party. Awesome.

Venus Ensembles
A+
I didn’t get to hear much of them…but people did say they were awesome. They played Halloween themed music before the ceremony. My sister said she heard them play the Munsters theme and sounded great. I was able to select music for them and they played it all. They’re very talented. I dealt with Jessica. She’s great to work with. They played the love theme from the 70’s Superman movie when I walked down the aisle and, it was just amazing.



DJ
BODY ROCK
A+
Our MC was ADAM.
Everything was on cue so perfectly……they got everyone pumped up for the announcements…I still get the chills when I think about it.
I’m a metal head, and was concerned about playing heavy metal music during the reception because not everyone is a head banger. I decided to give Body Rock a play list, and they played all the “rock” music I picked at the perfect times. They had people dancing all day…they were perfect. They played our spooky classical music CD during the CH and played our spooky rock music during dinner. They rocked and we had a great time with them.



Burton’s Flowers
A+
They did exactly what I wanted. They put the centerpieces together beautifully, and everything was GREAT. My bouquet was more beautiful than I could have imagined. The girls’ bouquets were awesome. We dealt with John….what a sweetness!! He had a lot of fun with us picking out flowers for our Halloween themed wedding. We got a great price too!





RK Bridal
A+
Ahh…the dress. I was DETERMINED to have black in my dress. I was having a dilemma with what dress to get. I was having one made…but was undecided about it..and stopped the process. I went to RK Bridal 5 times because I kept looking for a dress with black detail. I dealt with Emily. Each time I went there, she greeted me with a smile and even recognized me when I came in. What a sweetheart. I saw a dress on the cover of a magazine, and wanted it BADLY! RK Bridal was able to get the dress with less than 4 months to go. It was my dream dress. The fittings were all great. I didn’t need to get much done, except get the top taken in. They did a great job.

Tuxedo’s
Tony’s Tuxedo’s, Miller Place
A+
From his car, Sal at Tony’s Tuxedo’s saw my Mom and me staring in the window of his closed shop. He got out of his car, and opened the shop for us. We were there for an hour just chatting. He’s personable, and knows his sh**t. Everything was perfect!


Ultimate Class Limo
C-
They were great to deal with during the planning stages and called to 2 days before the wedding to confirm everything….BUT….
The day of the wedding, things did not go well with this vendor.

Issue #1 which was my fault…..the limo driver asked for payment, and I didn’t realize that I was supposed to give it to him – READ THE BOTTOM OF THE CONTRACT NEXT TIME SANDY!. The Best Man had all the money at his Mom’s house where the other limo was. I asked my driver if it was ok if they gave the money to the other driver, and he gave me a hard time and was he was persistent. My Grandmother had to tell him to lay off. Finally he got the ok from his superior. I understand that payment is very important, but I was freaking out, we were late, and I should not have been treated that way.

Issues continued:
They sent an 8 passenger limo instead of a 10 passenger to my house. 2 members of my party had to run outside in the wind and pouring rain to get into another car and follow the limo to the hall. The driver didn’t seem to care and didn’t offer them an umbrella when they had to run outside.

My 2 BM’s loaded up the limo while the driver stood in the garage smoking a cigarette.

We required shuttle buses at the end of the wedding to take guests to a hotel. Ultimate Class told me to book a shuttle bus starting at 5:30pm, fully aware the wedding ended at 6:00pm. As it turned out…..no one needed a shuttle until 6pm. The driver was rude to guests…rushing everyone….and my Dad, myself, and husband, had to hop in a guest’s car to get to the hotel because the shuttle wasn’t making anymore runs. I understand that I agreed to the 5:30pm pick up…but I’m not in the wedding/limo business and didn’t realize I should’ve booked the shuttles for 6:00pm when the wedding ended.

I did speak to the owner about all of this…who was very unprofessional. They did give me a 14% refund. I felt I was treated unfairly because I had a small wedding party. The owner even said to me….”Well you had a small wedding party”, but then quickly corrected himself by saying…”but that’s still no excuse for what happened.”

I heard great things about this company before I booked. I did my research. I just don’t understand what happened with them. The weather may have had something to do with it…but it was just unacceptable. I’m not a bridezilla by any means, but Ultimate Class turned me into one that morning.

Patken Photographer

Awesome. Vinny was our photog and I forgot the videographer’s name…I think it was Ryan (shame on me). They were both awesome. We had a great time with them. Our families are divorced all over the place, and Vinny made sure we got pictures with all parents! He was right on target. As soon as the weather cleared up, Vinny grabbed us and said, “Pics outside let’s go!!” And the pictures…..BEAUTIFUL!!! It’s going to be hard to choose pictures for the albums!
