Mackinac Island Mi wedding review

The wedding was more than I ever dreamed of!!

It was sunny in the 70's light breeze and no clouds in the sky. The honeymoon and my birthday were perfect! I have pics in my album, and a small review below......

Wednesday.....
I drove the 3 hrs right from work and it was HOT!!! The forecast changed about 10 times and it was miserable! The Market Street Inn was beyond my expectations!! The suite was amazing and beutifull. My mom had 16 purple sterling roses sent to my room for my birthday and they were breathtaking!! I got my oot bags done with notecards, my salt scrub and 1hr massage. I treated myself to a nice dinner on the harbour and had a restless night of sleep

Thursday....

My family began to arrive and Joe got there at 5pm on the last ferry. Mom and I had 90min massages, yes I had another, and Joe and I went to a wonderful dinner at the Harbour View Dining Room. We parted ways and I went to stay with my mother and godmother at the LakeView for the night. I had a bottle of wine, but again a restless nights sleep.

Friday.....
I got up early and sat out on the porch. There was a maid cleaning and she was singing this amazing gospel. Silly but it was exactly what I needed to relax. My step mom and sister joined my mother and I as we went to get our hair done. They did an awsome job even thought the make-up artist was scared to use pinks and purples. I have hazel eyes and I really works great, but she did it and it looked really good! Lunch and mimosa's followed and then off to get dressed. I had 2 things I was crazy over the dress and my flowers had to be perfect. I was so excited and when I looked I started crying. They were NOTHING like I had asked. They were pretty,, but not 30 blown open pale pink and white roses. ALL of the bout were the same. Joe's was not pale pink and Art's was not white. All of them were identical. I was so ****** My friends Kelly asnd Jaimie talked to me and cut all of the filler out with plastic butter knife's and made Joes white rose bout. They also added more roses to Art;s flowers. In the end they fixed it but I will never recom Beth's Flower's in Cheboygan again. The ceramony was more than I could have asked for. Joe and I are a silly couple and we always say nothing is more sacred than the pinkie swear. so instead of holding hands we pinkie swore through the ceremony. Dinner was AMAZING and everyone had a blast. We went out to the Pink Pony and had a blast!! JOe's ARMY buddy Rick was in Virginia at a training conf and when his plane was delayed he missed the wedding and reception but he got right off the plane and drove 7 hrs to be on the island for the after party!

Saturday.....
We slept in went on a horse tour of the island and had the BEST meal of the trip at Good Fellow's bar. There was steak, alaskan king crab legs, and lobster. It was perfect. Lot's of shopping....lot's and lot's of shopping

Sunday.....my birthday
We biked around the islnad and it rained the next 2 days straight and it was in the 50's but I
LOVE the rain and didn't mind. We had lunch at Good Fellow's and I had a 90min hot rock massage. I'm glad I pampered myself but I will never do it again. We dressed up and had dinner at The Woods. It was amazing. The carriage ride is about 30min through the woods and it really is incredible. After dinner we went back to Good Fellow's and drank and drank and drank. Joe got me a gorilla named mack and an amethyst necklace. When we got home a diamond 3 stone right handed ring was waiting for me!!

Mondy.....
It was cold and rainy still but we had breakfast and just lounged around in our room and in our jacuzzie. We had high tea at the Grand Hote but I was let down by the quality of the food. We weren't set to leave until Tuesday but I was starting to get anxious and on Wed I started a 7 day streatch at work so we snuck home early. We were so into leaving we took a boat full of 180 6th graders on a school field trip returning home. I was very comical! The drive was nice, but it was heaven to be home. My mom had come over and planted flowers in our flower boxes and bought us a table and chair set along with wood for our fire pit.

The wedding and honeymoon topped all of my expectations and was the most monderful day and time in my life. In the album are non-pro pics and as more keep rolliing in I will add them Thanks for reading this and if you ever get a chance to get to Mackinac Island I would take it. It is a step back in time with no cars allowed only horses and bicycles as transportation. The lilac's are everywhere and it is a wonderful place to go and unwind.
