My 1/2/05 Review North Hempstead Country Club(Updated with rev. of proofs and video at bottom)

Planning a wedding in three weeks was the best thing ever. All the anticipation and anxiety went away! It was a beautiful day and now we can start our lifelong journey of marriage!!

Sunday January 2, 2005 – Slightly brisk…sun and then clouds

Makeup by Oksana and Jenn the Hair Genie A+++++++++++ 10/10
What can I say that has not been said about these magnificent ladies! I don’t have pics yet, but will post them ASAP. I had a trial with Oksana in September for my June wedding and called her 3 weeks ago to reschedule, no problem. I had never met Jenn before but she came highly recommended by Flaca and so many others, including Oksana. I told her I wanted to look like Audrey Hepburn and WOW! These ladies are a pleasure to work with and very reasonable. They are both LIW vendors, so check them out.

Ariana Studios (Bayside/Plainview) Florist A+++++ 10/10
Tony was amazing…I went from Gerber Daisies for a June wedding to red and lavender roses for a January wedding, no problem. He allowed me to go out to Plainview to see the flowers 2 weeks ago. He wanted to make sure that I knew the “real” color and not the color of flowers on the internet. Good thing, too….the Grooms boutonnière would not have matched Tony said the flowers would arrive to the temple by 10am, he delivered them himself at 9:45am. My bo-k was a wee bit heavy and I passed it off to my BM, but that was my own doing. I wanted it to look exactly like the pic I showed him, which was huge. The BM’s bo-k’s were beautiful. The boutonnière’s were great! Very reasonably priced.

North Hempstead Country Club A++++++ 10/10
The reception was held in the Grill Room at NHCC the cocktail hour was insane…so much food I don’t remember half of it, lol. I remember the raw bar with the ice sculpture, champagne and caviar, spinacoppia(sp?) and lamb chops. The service was great. Always at our disposal making sure that everything went as planned and everyone was doing well. We even got to watch the Jet game ?. For lunch we had filet mignon and/or red snapper. I did not get to eat much because I was so busy dancing and socializing. NHCC also provided the band, the Tom Costello Orchestra! They kept everyone dancing and not one lull. I gave them a do not play list over the phone (No Brick House, Conga, Limbo, Twist…) everyone has raved about the food and the band.

Saint Honorie (Cake) A 9/10
My cake came out exactly how I wanted. It was white cake with cannoli filling. 2-tiers, white icing with swirls and 2 big purple bows. It tasted great but I knew it was delivered on 12/31 so I tasted old cake. They were closed on New Year’s Day, of course. But, they were closed Sunday, tooooooooo. That is why I can only give them a 9. No one else knew but me, but I hated knowing, lol.

Our 1st 05 review! I almost have tears in my eyes(but I am not emotional). I am so glad you had an incredible wedding day. It sounded like it went off without a hitch. I can't wait to see pics!!!!!

I got my proofs and video!!!!

I have to scan on some pics but I looked fabulous. The groom looked pretty good, too.

Am I allowed to rave about Oksana and Jenn one more time?? They turned a 26 yr old who looks 15 in a beautiful bride!! Okay, the pics.
I don't love the oddly posed pics, that is so not us. Like me starring into his eyes, that is just freaky!! The other pics were amazing. The video was funny, I guess I did not even notice everything going on around me because it all looked new to me. The group pics turned out beautiful. Pics I thought would turn out weird actually are the best. They definitely know what they are doing and I would use them again in a heartbeat. They were great to work with...when we changed our date they just asked for the new address. They did not complain, just put things in fast forward. Also, very reasonable. My only complaint...I wish the groom went tanning!! I was beautifully bronzed, courtesy of Hollywood Tans, so he looked pasti-er than usual!
