MY 2/13/10 AMAZING WEST SAYVILLE COUNTRY CLUB WEDDING!!

LIWeddings.com – A+

Had I not found this website – I’m sure my wedding wouldn’t have been as nice as it was. It was great to be able to share ideas and opinions with other brides. There’s so much I probably wouldn’t have done because I never heard of it. I also enjoyed some of the gatherings and made some great friends here. I love this website!!

Blue Nile (my e-ring and band) – A+

Ordered it online, there was a problem with my wedding band so I sent it back to repaired and had it back within 3 days. Customer service is exceptional and their jewelry is definitely high quality and great value for the price.

Kay Jewelers (DH’s band) – A

No complaints here – DH got a great wedding band for a good price at the Kay Jeweler’s in Riverhead.

Bridal Shower – Desmond’s Restaurant at East Wind – A

My bridal shower was great! I had a smaller event (about 25 guests) and we had a private area in the back of the restaurant. The food was great, and since it was in the beginning of January, East wind was all decorated for Christmas still so we got some wonderful pictures as well that day.

Bachelorette Party – East Wind Spa – A

Incredible! We got a package where each girl got manicure and a full massage and lunch at the restaurant there. All the packages included all gratuities as well so there was no extra cash needed. You could not beat the price. The only reason I didn’t give an A+ is because the spa was rather crowded and at one point one of my bridesmaid didn’t have a seat in the relaxation room. I will definitely go back there in the future

Invitations – The Writing Place – Stony Brook – A+

They were so friendly at the shop, I went back 2 or 3 times before ordering invites and they were so helpful. I think my invites were Carlson Craft and cost around $200 total for 100 invites. They were inexpensive but they definitely didn’t look cheap!

Dress – Fantasia Bridal – A

Loved my dress, I wore the Maggie Sottero “Karena” and the shop was wonderful and very accommodating. My only gripe was that I asked the seamstress at my first fitting if she could sew a satin strip on my dress (I had a lace halter it was scratching my neck) – she told me it was no problem and when I came back the second time she had sewn organza and not satin and told me she couldn’t do satin because it would show through the lace. Other than that no problems at all with alterations.

Tuxes – Men’s Wearhouse – A+

No complaints here, the tuxes looked great! Even more convenient was the guys were able to get their tuxes at whatever location was closest to them so it was easy for everyone.

Bridesmaid Dresses – David’s Bridal – Lake Grove – A

It was very easy to place the order and the dresses arrived very quickly. What was great was I had one bridesmaid who was out of state so this was convenient since there are David’s locations all over the country. The girls took care of their own alterations so I can’t comment on that – but everyone looked great in their dresses!

Etsy.com – A+

I found about Etsy through Liweddings and I am so glad I did! I got my day of jewelry from etsy as well as my table numbers and table number stands. I also got our unity candle and memorial candle through there. It’s a great website and I recommend checking it out.

Menus – DIY – A+

Ordered my cardstock from envelopperinc.com and printed them out at home. Tedious, but I was happy with how they came out. If I had it to do over I would have done several per day rather than 100 at once but well worth the effort!

Rehearsal Dinner – John Harvard’s Lake Grove – B+

Food was delicious and everyone had a great time. I love the atmosphere at this place. The only reason I am not giving them an A is because they had one server for a party of 26 which slowed things down a little. A second server would have been nice. They also never put any bread or anything on the table which was supposed to be included.

Hair – Johanna, Kenneth Richards Salon – Wading River – A+

My regular stylist I’ve been going to for 10 years. She did a GREAT job and the hair stayed all night long. And I didn’t pay anywhere near what some of the girls on here paid for their day of hair.

Makeup – Sandra Baldini – A+

Sandra is so accommodating and great at what she does. She traveled to my venue to do my makeup even though I was the only one having makeup done. I like that she didn’t require a minimum amount of girls. My makeup looked gorgeous and lasted all night – I also like that she used the individual lashes rather than the strips because they looked great and you didn’t feel them on your eyes. I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a makeup artist.

Florist – In Full Bloom – Farmingdale – A+

They were great, we got simple low centerpieces, all roses and they were beautiful! I really loved my bouqet and the bridesmaids bouquets.

Audrey’s Bakery – West Sayville – A+

Delicious cake and it was absoulutely beautiful!! We had yellow cake with chocolate and raspberry mousse fillings and everyone raved about the cake.

Ceremony – Pastor April -Church of Ancient Ways – A+

Pastor April was so sweet all of our guests kept saying how beautiful the ceremony was. I even had one of my guests ask for her information for a friend who was getting married they liked the ceremony so much! I definitely recommend her. She even sent me an email with instructions on how to begin the process of changing my name over.

Reception – Meadowedge – West Sayville Country Club – A+++++

I couldn’t have been more pleased with my reception. The food was amazing, the price was fantastic and the service could not be beat. They are so accommodating. I had so many questions and I would often email the banquet manager Steve, sometimes up to 5 times a day! He would always return my emails within the hour. Everyone keeps saying how delicious the food was and the portions were very generous. I would definitely recommend them.

DJ – Extremes Sounds – A

We went with them based of a recommendation from my parents who had seen them at 2 weddings prior and swore that they were the best DJ they ever saw at any wedding. Freddy the owner is very professional and really knows how to run a good business - I would reccomend them

Nelson Fuentes – I –Do Video – A+++++

Wow!! So impressed with Nelson! He was my favorite vendor to deal with! We almost didn’t get video because we had a hard time finding something within our budget. Every company we looked at it was either these big cinematic events that were too expensive and over the top for us, or something that looked like a cheap home video. By chance I mentioned it to my hairdresser and she gave me Nelson’s name. A friend of hers had just used him, so I called him, met with him and his work I felt was so high quality for the price. He was the only video guy there but you would never know from the video, everything flows so great and the video is awesome! Money well spent!! Not to mention he is the nicest guy and everyone kept saying how wonderful he was!!

Honeymoon – Couples Swept Away – Negril, Jamaica – A+

Wonderful trip, this resort was AMAZING! We definitely plan to go back. It was all inclusive and there was plenty to do. It was right on Negril Beach and we were able to come and go as we please. If we go back I would definitely get a room closer to the beach though.

Delta Airlines – F
We got stranded on our way back because Delta overbooked our flight from Jamaica to NY. We wound up having to take a flight to North Carolina and stay the night and go back to NY the next morning. I will never fly on Delta again because of this – awful experience.

All in all my wedding was incredible. I hope this review will help future brides. Sorry no pics to put up at this time but I hope you enjoyed reading my review
