First off, thank you long Island weddings! I was never a big poster but I received tons of ideas from People on this website. I honestly loved being able to take ideas and make them into my own. I have to say before you read this. I was not picky nor was I a typical bride. I cared about 3 things. Flowers, RH and my Photography. Everything else I didn’t care about. The day turned out amazing and those three things above were above and beyond what I would have dreamed of.

Our Story

FH and I met while he was stationed in the Marine Corps. We were stuck talking on the phone for 4 months before we could meet. We were set up through mutual friends.
After we met he was deployed to Iraq for seven months. He returned to California and then was done with his 4 years and moved to Long Island. We got engaged shortly after!
He decided to wear his uniform for part of our weddign because the military was such a huge part of our beginning. Now he is in the inactive reserves for four years and hopefully staying put!


Frank and Frans (Wantagh) A++++
I wanted a solitaire ring. I knew we were on a budget so I sent my husband there. I LOVE my ring and it was a family owned business so I was happy to work with them. They definitely will work with your budget and design your ring to your specific needs.

Magnet Street-A++++++++++
My save the dates were the strip of pictures. I loved them and they were reasonably priced.

Invites, Menus, Card box – A+++++++++
Done by me and my Husband ? I love my pocketfolds!

Weather-A+++
Thanks to all the stalking ? it was perfect with one thunderstorm which was over before I new it! The sun was out all day and the skies were awesome at night.


Bridal Reflections (Massapequa) – A
All and All I can say they were great. I received my Maggie for the same price that Burtons wanted. I knew people who worked there so everyone was very friendly. I have no Complaints. I bought my dress and veil there.

The bridesmaid’s dresses were cheap and I loved them. My pink and black theme was very important and those dresses completed my ideas. They were only $135 and most of the girls didn’t need any alterations. I loved those dresses!!

Bridal Shower - A++++
I did not through it but it was awesome. We had it at Peppercorns in hicksville. It was amazing! The cake was from Francescos in Hicksville and that bakery is amazing!

Tri County-A++
I received my headpiece from a place in the back (not Barron’s) It was a place with tons of jewelry and was at the very back. They had one case and I dove in there and found it. I loved my headpiece. It was exactly what I wanted. It was quick and easy and best of all $60!!!

Paddys Loft – A
My rehersal dinner was great and went smooth. I would suggest them.

Dortoni’s- A
My groom’s cake was amazing. Everyone said it even tasted good. I did a version of my Husbands grandfather’s 1940s Buick.

My Makeup and Hair- A+++++++++++
I loved both of them and seriously recommend calling them for a consult. They were both on time and easy to work with. I was totally comfortable letting them know what I liked. I did trials before hand. They were very reasonable on price as well.

Woodbury Country Club- A++ for Gardens and Food

I don’t really feel its fair for me to rate them. I am torn. I LOVED it there. The other wedding the same day as me ended up cancelling a few weeks before y wedding! I was so psyched! To be the only wedding at the WCC sunday of memorial day weekend is not easy to come by! I had the full gardens to use for my pictures. Both sides and my guests could rome without running into any other guests. The gardens and the food were AMAZING. There were quite a few problems the day of. I can say they certainly weren’t kept a secret from me. I didn’t feel like a bride there that day at all. I definitely felt like I was just another person to them in their busy schedule. They were rude to some guests from what I hear. I don’t know since I didn’t witness it so I will say that my view of the WCC was beautiful! I really don’t care how I felt that day as long as everything in the end worked out which it did. Everyone raved about how tender the meat was. I would recommend them again to someone and definitely suggest the Viennese if you book there. My cake was not what I asked for at all. In the end it was beautiful and I didn’t even mention to them that they messed up. I believe Dortonis did it which surprised me. I have a feeling there was a mess up when WCC called my cake in. In the end I would totally recommend them but know that they def dont seem like a family owned place anymore. It shows.

Patken- A++++++++++++++++++++
I had Jessie. My pictures speak for themselves. If I raved forever about Jessie you would call me crazy. In my mind, there isn’t anyone better out there. I did scan and upload my photos to a site to share with friends and family. I will also add a few in my albums. I didn’t want to post pictures in my review but please visit her if you are looking for a photographer. She did everything from helping me put my veil in to keeping my sanity to making my dreams come true with photography. I am VERY picky about who I would let take my pictures. My Husband is in school to do architecture and he has a very edgy style. She is doing a trash the dress shoot with us this summer so I will let you know how that goes.
All I can say is if you can get Jessie book her ASAP.
**Just an update. I received my finished album from Patken about 6 months after my wedding at it was perfect. I have the online code to view the album, please FM me if you want to see it.

I had them the minute I returned from my honeymoon. Amazing!

Patken Video- A++++
I had joey and he was adorable. He didn't miss out on anything and he was so helpful with the kids and with helping Jessie. I loved my team of video/photographer. Patken already loaded a little clip for me to watch on their blog..Amazing
**I received my video in Sept. I was very nervous because people on this site kept saying that their videos are good. I thought it was perfect, had NO problems. For the money i paid (basic video) it was great quality!

Day after shoot with Patken. Pictures are at bottom. This was done at adventureland in Aug with Jessie.

Burtons-A++++++++++++++++++++
Everything was beautiful. The guy that came the morning of the wedding went over everything with me. Everything was dead on. I had tall centerpieces which looked beautiful. They even decorated my cake without being told. I think they are great and the price was amazing. I would highly recommend them.

Level DJS-A
I met them at a WKJY party. I loved working with Cleveland. They were definetly not wedding DJS. I loved the club feel and I love my zap shots that I received. I would recommend them to someone who loves to dance and wants everyone up on the floor all night. People still tell me that they would rather be on my dance floor then anywhere else. I received my CD with over 200 pictures taken through the night. It was also ready the minute I got back.

Howie the Steel Drummer-A+++
Amazing and he even let me slam them around once I was a little buzzed. I loved him and highely recommend him.

RJ Limos-A+
What can I say. On time, Clean and the nicest group of guys. I did the Mercedes, escalade and Chrysler 300 all for $1500 for my day. I had a blast. I would recommend them to anyone.

Camelot-A+
End of the night shuttles. Again, clean and on time. Nothing bad to say. Joe was great to work with.


Melville Marriott-A+
I loved them. My room was taken care of by the WCC so I only had to pay for Sat night (the night before the wedding). Ilene at the Marriott ending up comping me and it was wonderful. I had a huge suite and we partied. They were very accommodating especially since I had 40 rooms taken by my block. I came back at the end of the night to a bottle of champagne and rose petals on my bed.

Men’s Warehouse (Carle Place) – F
Stay far away. They were a pain and overpriced. I hated working with them.

Garter A+ - I had one that i got from Victoria secret and a second on I bought at Michaels.

DOJ- A++++
I got both my pieces from Macys. They were both costume jewlery so they were cheap and everyone loved it. I think I spend $50 total. My neclace was a crystal one that was my great grandmas so that was my something borrowed.

Hoodie, Tanks, Sweatsuit - A+++
My Bride tank and Bride sweatshirt were purchased through Tri County and I love them. My Just Married sweatsuit was bought from Exclusivelyweddings.com and my just married tank came from Michaels. I also bought the ringbearer and flowergirl shirts from michaels. Adorable!

Day of Shoes- My blue suede shoes made quite an impact at the wedding. They were four inch heels and they were BLUE. I love my pictures of them and everyone was commenting. At one point I pulled my dress up because I was so hot and people were running to me asking me about them. Such a fun idea if your into shoes :)
They were Nine West but I also have a pair that are Jessica Simpson.

Macys – A+
Wedding band. I love my wedding band. They had what I wanted and I went for it. If you catch them during a big sale you will definitely luck out. Mine is called the box cut.

My husband’s wedding band was bought from Ireland so I don’t remember the name of the company. He wanted a clada mens ring and I wanted it to be manly.

Honeymoon- A++++
I planned it so it was just what I wanted. One week in Disney at the Polynesian and then one week on a cruise to the Carribean. We loved Turks and Caicos and Grand Cayman. I wasn't to in love with Ochos Rios but I am still glad we did it. I got a room with the balcony on the back of the boat so we watched the sun rise and set and it was amazing. Spending all that money was totally worth it. We also drove to Flordia so it was exciting to drive and have so much time to talk about what just happened!

Picture Trail-A++++++++
I uploaded all my scans, got to put in music and it was all free. I love that website!

Walgreens – A++++++
Picture books made the day after my honeymoon are already on my parents coffee tables! I suggest uploading your pictures and ordering them from Walgreens. Very Fast service.

One piece of advice I can give. I had a friend video tape my entire ceremony at the church so I could watch it. He had it back to me before I left for the honeymoon. I had received this camera from my bridesmaids at my shower. My husband and I sat in our room at the Polynesian and watch it and both cried and laughed. It was so awesome to get to watch it on a huge TV the day after. I suggest having someone tape it with your own video camera so you can bring it with you and watch it.
