My 7.7.06 Wedding Review! Fox Hollow, Big Hits, Burton's and Much More! UPDATED with non-pro pics :)
After over a year and a half of planning and over eight years together, my DH and I finally tied the knot on 7/7/06! While planning my wedding I used this site for a lot of wedding “extras” but not for many vendors. A couple of the vendors we used we heard about through friends and family members and aren’t very well known on this site. Any brides out there that are using vendors that aren’t very well known on LIW don’t worry…this review is for you so that you can see that just because your vendors aren’t mentioned a lot on this site doesn’t mean that aren’t absolutely fantastic! My vendors were all FABULOUS. They helped make my wedding day a beautiful day that my DH and I will never forget and I had a great time working with each and every one of them! Here’s my review!Miscellaneous wedding related items:
Invites
Coral Graphic Designs:Regency invitations, matchbooks, wedding stationary…… A+
I thought this would be an easy task…I knew what I wanted in my head (simple yet elegant with a bow) but I had trouble choosing just 1 invite bc so many of them were so pretty! My DH actually chose our invite and I of course added a bow to it! When it was time to order, Nancy, from Coral Graphics was so helpful. We customized the colors, fonts, and wording of our invites and absolutely loved them when they came in! We also ordered custom wedding stationary to coordinate with our invites as well as personalized matchbooks for our guests. We were very happy with all of the Regency products we received from coral graphics.
Favors
Wrap with us: favors, guest book, guest pen, almonds……………………………..A+
Papermart: wrapping paper and ribbon....................................................................A
Cudge.net: votive candle holders and tea lights…………………………………. A+

Re: My 7.7.06 Fox Hollow Wedding Review!
Attire:Lillette’s, Baldwin: Bride’s gown, BM dresses, and alterations…………………A+!
Lillette’s was the first stop I made when searching for a wedding gown. I was lucky enough to meet and work with Gerry. She was an absolute sweetheart with the patience of a saint. I must have tried on about 30+ dresses until I found “the one.” Gerry helped me figure out what size dress to order and did a hollow-to-hem measurement bc the work went down the full length of the gown. I couldn’t have been happier when the dress came in! The length was perfect but it had to be taken in a bit. Francesca did my alterations and she was fabulous. She listened to my concerns and did all that she could to fix the dress so it looked and fit exactly the way I wanted it do. It didn’t slip or slide down on my wedding day and I felt like a princess wearing it! My BMs also ordered their dresses from there and they were great. A couple of the girls had their alterations done at Lillette’s and had a different seamstress. They did have to have a couple of fittings but the dresses looked perfect on the Big Day.
Ray’s Tuxedo, Franklin Square: DH’s Tux, GM tuxes …………………………A+
My DH and a couple of his GM ordered their prom tuxes from Ray’s so my DH thought it would be fun to order the wedding tuxes from there too. The owners of the store were great and answered any questions that we (or I) had. They helped us coordinate the tuxes and shoes. The day before the wedding when the guys had to pick up the tuxes they made any and all necessary changes at the shop before the tuxes were taken home. DH was very happy with their service and even got a free pair of cuff links!
Barron’s in Tri County, Levittown: veil…………………………………………. A+
I ordered my veil from Barrons after hearing about them on this site! When I went in I told the man I was looking for a “two tier veil with a medium poof and a little sparkle” and that’s exactly what I got! It was custom made to my height and I LOVED it! I wore it for the entire reception!
[
Hair and Make-up
Denise from Angel Eyes: Bride, MOB, and BM make-up………………………..A+
I knew I wanted airbrushing for my make-up and found Denise through searching on LIW. I went for a trial in November and booked her on the spot. Denise and I spoke a couple of times in the weeks leading up to the wedding and she answered any questions that I had. The day of the wedding, Denise did air-brush make up for me, my mom, my aunt, my MOH, and my SIL. Everybody looked BEAUTIFUL! Denise was such a pleasure to work with the day of the wedding and all throughout the planning process.
DH’s Cousin Diana: Bride’s Hair………………………………………………...A+

TransportationCrystal Coach, Freeport: Bride ad groom’s, BP, and family’s limos A+
All cars were clean and beautiful. The drivers were very friendly. they were great!
Flowers
Flowers by Burton, Melville: bo-ks, ceremony flowers, centerpieces etc A-
All of our bo-ks were gorgeous! Mine looked exactly like the pics I submitted at one of our final meeting.s Burton's was great...we got the flowers we wanted even on our tight budget!
DJ
Big Hits Entertainment, Huntington: DJ and MC……………………………….A+
AWESOME!!!! Everyone was dancing all night! Wayne our MC was a great guy!
Photographer Photography by Jodi…………………………………………………………Day of A+
I heard about Jodi through my MOH and DH and I met with her and loved her! She has such a wonderful personality. We knew we wanted a mix of posed and photojournalistic photos but couldn’t afford 2 photographers. After looking at her work we knew that Jodi would be able to do anything we wanted her to do. My DH really loved her black and white photos and he’s not easily impressed! My DH and I met with her a couple of times and she definitely had a good grip on our personalities by the day of the wedding which was great.
The day of the wedding Jodi was fun yet professional. She came to my mom’s house to take some pics of me and the girls and my family and then stayed with us all day. She was such a pleasure to work with! We’re not big picture people and she knew when we needed a small break. One of my favorite things about her was during the mass and the reception we never felt like she was in the way or trying to stage shots. She let DH and I as well as our friends and families enjoy our day, which is exactly what we wanted. Our proofs are gorgeous! It's going to be tought choosing the ones for our album! the pics below are our proofs.

Re: My 7.7.06 Fox Hollow Wedding Review!
ChurchSt. Christopher’s, Baldwin…………………………………………………….A+
I felt very fortunate to have gotten married in such a GORGEOUS church on such a beautiful day. Everybody at St. Chris was so helpful with all of the planning and of course on the big day. Any brides that are getting married at St. Chris, make sure you get a long enough runner! It’s a looooooooong aisle!
Reception Hall
Fox Hollow, Woodbury…………………………………………………….A+++
I knew what type of reception…a hall with gorgeous grounds, a lot of food, and a pretty room for our smaller wedding. We found all of that at Fox Hollow! My DH and I were very impressed with the package Fox Hollow offered us as well as their beautiful hall. About a month before the wedding we met with Jen and she helped us choose our menu, cake, and linens. She was such a huge help! I gave her a picture of the cake I wanted and she said she’s try to duplicate it for us.
The day of the wedding we arrived at Fox Hollow a little earlier than we originally expected but they were still ready for us! We were set up in the beautiful smaller garden…the one with the bridge that leads you over to the hotel. Our Bridal attendant, Anne Marie and our Maitre D, Henri, were both phenomenal! They were there with anything that we needed and kept our family and Bridal party happy with plenty of food and drinks! I was very impressed with the amount of food that they brought out for our bridal party and family!
After pictures, Henri took my DH and I inside to see our room all set up. It was a crazy moment. Some of the staff was still scurrying around putting their finishing touches on everything but our room, the WGP looked UNBELIEVABLE! I felt like I was in a movie! Then I saw the cake….it looked even BETTER than the picture that I brought to Jen at our initial meeting!!!!!!! It was decorated with the flowers that Burton’s sent over and I was beyond thrilled with it!
After we saw the room, Anne Marie brought some food up to the Bridal suite for my DH and I while the rest of the Bridal Party went down to the CH. We went down a little while after and saw the beautiful displays. Everybody looked so happy eating and drinking their champagne and strawberries!
While in the WGP for the reception everything was great! Our guests had plenty of room to walk around and dance. Everybody ate too much! We had an appetizer, then a salad, then pasts, then dinner, then cake and a Belgium waffle sundae! Our guests were really impressed with the cordial bar that came out for dessert. One thing that did disappoint us was that one of the filling inside of our cake was wrong. Nobody knew but us. I happened to also like the filling that was in the cake (it was strawberry with cannoli and it should have been chocolate mousse with strawberry) but my DH didn’t like it. I think I was still so impressed by the outside of the cake that there could have been just bread inside and I wouldn’t have cared!
At the end of the night, Henri and Anne Marie packed up all of our left over stuff into the limo that brought my family home and then walked DH and I over to the hotel. It was such a pleasure sharing our day with both of them!

Re: My 7.7.06 Fox Hollow Wedding Review!
HoneymoonNCL 8 night cruise, booked with Joanne from Dream Destinations……………………………………………..A+++
DH HATES flying so he was very lucky that there happened to be a fantastic cruise leaving out of NY the day after our wedding. I met Joanne our travel agent at a showcase and she booked us a great balcony room in the middle of the ship on the 9th deck. The boat was AWESOME! It was a little bit smaller on the inside than some other cruise ships but it was still awesome. There were so many different restaurants and bars to choose from. Joanne surprised us with the Honeymoon Package so we got to enjoy a lot of champagne, cake and chocolate covered strawberries in addition to all of the fantastic food on the boat! Our ports of call were St. Thomas, Tortola, and Bermuda. In St. Thomas we went shopping and then headed to Meghan’s Bay Beach. The beach was gorgeous and they had the BEST Pina Colada’s at the beach bar there! In Tortola we took an excursion to Virgin Gorda to the Baths. What a crazy experience that was! There were caves and boulders, and a path that lead you down to the beach area. It was an adventure but it was so much fun! In Bermuda, we took a glass bottom boat and snorkeling excursion which was great and then took a ferry over to Hamilton and did more shopping.
The entire week was amazing, even more so than I would have imagined. It was so laid back and relaxed…exactly what I needed after all of the craziness before the wedding!
My advice to Future Brides……..
ENJOY YOUR DAY. Take it all in! One of my favorite moments of the day was waiting outside of the church in the Rolls and seeing the awe in the eyes of little girls, my students, who came to see me get married. It’s such a little thing but it reminded me of what was about to happen. So many of us plan and plan and plan and we tend to get caught up and stressed out BUT at that moment when I saw the looks on my girl’s faces, it brought me back to when I was a little girl and thought about my wedding day and in that I moment I realized it was happening. I was the bride! I was about to get married to such an amazing guy in front of all the people I love the most! It was a surreal moment. Take it all in! Take time when you plan your ceremony. Make it about you and your DH. Try to make it as personal as you can. Enjoy it. It’s an unbelievable moment when you say your vows. Take it all in! Try not to worry about the little things. Looking back I wished I hadn’t stressed out about finishing my place cards or my programs, or the little bells for the church. It all got done and it all looked beautiful and the same will happen for you, even if you might not believe it right before the wedding! So my advice…enjoy your day and take it all in! On your day, it’s your turn to be the beautiful bride that you remembered seeing as a little girl.
