My Atlantis Marine World Wedding Review w/Pics! More pics added 8/05
Dress: Paradise Bridal …7/10They were so nice on the phone and when I went in to try on the dress I wanted. However, they were not honest about the time frame for my dress to come in. According to what they said when I ordered it, it should have been in by early July but didn’t come in until August. I was not happy with the seamstress who wanted to cut off the bottom of all my embroidery to shorten the dress. When I asked why the underskirt couldn’t be taken up from the waist, she said it just couldn’t. So, after arguing with her for a while, we decide to use a crinoline (which I DIDN’T want) and leave it long. When I got the dress all finished, I asked my mother who said that it could have been taken up that way but involved a lot of work.
I ordered my headpiece and veil from Paradise as well. They ordered the wrong veil and then said that they would fix it so it was right but never did. I did not mention this when I picked up my dress 3 days before the wedding. I just couldn’t be bothered at that point.
Tuxedos: Paradise Bridal … 8/10
The same issue with the timeframe of when they would be available for pick up. However, the tuxedos were new and looked great!
Bridesmaid Dress: David’s Bridal…7/10
The dresses were lovely. I didn’t like the lack of sizes in the various styles and really think that I lucked out by finding something. I did like that they had shoes that matched the dresses and the girls didn’t have to have them dyed. The store is too much like a discount warehouse and I didn’t like that feeling. I did try on some dresses there and found that the attendant had too many brides to attend too and the dressing room was way too crowded.
Flowergirl Dresses: Ebay…Butterflyx 10/10
I decided to take a chance and order the dresses off Ebay. I figured that the worst that could happen is that I don’t like them and spent a little money. I was shocked at how much I loved these dresses! They were perfect and exactly what I was looking for. Each costs me $26! This is probably the best bargin I got for my wedding.
Invitations: www.capturedmomentsprinting.com... 9/10
I knew exactly the type of invitations that I wanted. When I went looking, I almost fell down by the cost. I didn’t want to spend over $1000.00 on just invitations. I looked in all the catalogues and searched the web. In doing so, I found the above mentioned website. The prices were so good and then there is a discount on top of the wholesale price. I loved my invitations! I did have a slight problem and Tammy, the broker, took care of it immediately and had new invitations sent to me right away. I referred a co-worker to the same website and she found the original invitations that she wanted and they were now affordable. It is definitely worth a look.
Hair: Tara from Hair by Bobbie..10/10
Tara was wonderful and did a fantastic job on my hair. My original hairdresser bailed out on my 2 weeks before the wedding so I had to scramble to find someone. Tara cuts the hair of a couple of girls I work with so I decided to give her a try. She acted like it was her sister getting married with the amount of detail and effort she put into my hair. She was wonderful!
Makeup: Marie Katz of LovingColor.com…10/10
Marie did such a wonderful job. From my trial to my wedding day, she was fabulous. She is professional and friendly. My mother, BM and I all used the airbrush foundation, which I loved. Marie took her time with all of use and really made us up specifically to each of us. The make up was flawless all night long.
Limo: M&V Limo…10/10
Because I was getting married and having the reception in the same place, I had a very specific limo need. M&V was the only company that I called that wouldn’t require me to take the 3 hour minimum. They were very professional from the being; called me right back from an email inquiry, they confirmed with me – I didn’t have to call them. The drivers were on time and knew where they were going. The cars were clean and new. The airport drops were perfect. On time and professional.
Florist: Country Garden (AKA: Flowers of the Branch): 10/10
Liz was the second florist I met with. The first had beautiful flowers but when I explained that I needed very simple centerpieces and didn’t not want to spend a lot of money on them … He showed me centerpieces that were $75.00 a piece! I ended up going to Liz because my BIL buys flowers for my sister there and they are always so fresh and beautiful. Well, Liz was great. I got my bouquet, MoH bouquet, BM, 3 flower girl baskets stuffed with roses, pew bouquets, 2 Fica trees, 3 arrangements for the various tables, my dais centerpiece, 3 dozen flowers for the cake, 2corsages, 3 father boutonnières and all the boutonnières for my bridal party. As well as centerpieces for the tables that cost me $15 a piece!!!! Liz was great and I would definitely recommend her to anyone.
Photographer: Gary Leli… 7/10
He was very nice and easy to work with. However, I was under the understanding that he was to bring an assistant to the wedding and he didn’t. I would have like a bit more direction in what poised pictures should be taken. I have gotten my proofs back and there are some lovely pictures. However, there are pictures missing that I think should have been there – such as close up of my bouquet, picture of the reception tables finished (there is a picture of the unfinished tables), pictures from the cocktail hour since we didn’t take pictures through out that hour, more picture of the bridal and groom attendants at the alter, more pictures of the child attendants.
Band: Trevor Davison orchestra…9/10
I loved the demo CD from the first song. The band is very classic and elegant. I loved the music and they did everything from Sinatra to Sister Sledge. This is not the band to book if you are looking for Top 40 though. They are a great swing band and big band. I loved them. Trevor is easy to work with and really caters to what you would like. It was great to see everyone up and dancing! Everyone loved the band – from young to old!
Venue: Atlantis Marine World …10/10
When we decided to marry, both of us wanted something unique. The first place we went to look at was Atlantis. That was also the last place we looked at. The surroundings are so beautiful and unique. We had the entire run of the aquarium which was great for us and the guests. The service was outstanding. I could never say enough about how wonderful Geno and Tracy were. Not one thing went wrong. The food was fantastic from start to finish. I decided to have a butler – style cocktail hour. I must have had 20 waiters walking around serving appetizers. My mother made a slight mention about not getting to the coconut shrimp and within minutes, there were 2 waiters with full trays at her disposal. Everyone raved about the food and about being able to have seconds at dinner. I can’t wait to get my pictures back so you all can see the room.

Yes, dancing was in the whale room as soon as you crossed the bridge. We had a 10 piece band in there. It was great - we had the whole run of the place.
