My Royalton Wedding 8-7-09

Although I didn't post on here often, I always appreciated reading the reviews on my vendors especially about the Royalton so here goes....
( I will try to add photos later but I had to start writing the review before I forgot!!!))

Elena from Bridal Touch did my hair and makeup. She brought 3 assistants with her and they were all wonderful. My bridesmaids all had different hairstyles which were equally beautiful. You cannot go wrong booking with her. She was always available to take a phone call and was so lovely and pleasant. I highly recommend using her.

Spitz and Peck arrived right on time to start setting up the Royalton and did a beautiful job. Bobby really understood the look I was going for and his team did a wonderful job executing the vision. We decided to hire them to do the uplighting in the ballroom as well and it made such a huge difference, The pink lighting really added a warmth and glow to the room!!

The Royalton was spectacular from start to finish. I got ready there along with my 7 bridesmaids and my mother. We arrived bright and early around 9 and were greeted by the bridal attendant Ashley. She was amazing and I cannot say enough wonderful things about her. She kept me calm, organized and it seemed like she read my mind as she would often bring me what I needed before I could even ask for it. They served coffee, bagels, muffins, fruit while we were having our hair and makeup done. The whole morning ran very smoothly because of Ashley. After the church and pictures at Old Westbury Gardens we arrived shortly before the cocktail hour was supposed to begin but most all guests were already eating like royalty!
Food- Let me start by saying we had a lot of very picky eaters attending the wedding and I was very concerned about them enjoying their meals. My concerns were laid to rest immediately however. All the food was delicious. We had many guests tell us that it was the best food they had ever had at a wedding. The food was unlike typical wedding fare and was like what you would receive at a quality restaurant. At the cocktail hour we had added the seafood bar complete with oysters, lobster, shrimp, etc. We also had the vodka caviar station with an ice luge which was a huge hit. Since there was such a huge spread at the cocktail hour and a half we decided to go with a light summer salad and poached pear to begin the reception. Guests then had a choice between shell steak, roasted chicken breast, chilean sea bass or a vegetable dish. Everything was superb but the chicken is the ABSOLUTE BEST! It was perfectly seasoned and cooked. I insisted that my MOH order it instead of the steak because I knew how much she would appreciate it. The wedding cake was as beautiful as it was delicious. I noticed that most everyone had finished their piece which is unusual. The vienesse hour was out of this world. They had everything we had asked for and went above and beyond to accomodate my father who is diabetic with an entire table filled with sugar free cakes and cookies. When we went to the tasting I had brought a picture of a cake that I absolutely loved. It was very detailed and I was realistic that my caked wouldn't be exactly the same but I was hoping to incorporate some of the elements. However, when I showed Gerard the picture he said if that was what I wanted that was what I would get- and it is!!! The cake took my breath away! It looked exactly like the photo and was so stunning!!!!
Service- The waiters were unbelievably attentive to all the guests. Drinks were constantly refreshed and everyone felt like they were being given special treatment. My mother thought it was just becuase she was the MOB but this is how they treat all guests. Gerard was there all night along with our wonderful maitre'd Arturo.
I really and truly cannot say enough wonderful things about the Royalton. They will do anything for you to make you the happiest bride and groom! Gerard, Ashley, Arturo and everyone else went above and beyond for me and Brian throughout the entire planning process and day of! Our guests were blown away from start to finish by the attention to detail, wonderful food and staff!!!

Next Faze- We had booked them back in Feb 2008 because they fill up their weekends so fast and for good reason...they kept the dance floor packed the entire night. They were the only thing we paid for ourselves but were totally worth every penny!!! Once we realized what a huge difference live music made we were able to go to one of their showcases after hearing about them through a friend and of course we instantly fell in love with their sound. Brian said he didn't even care about the price because we had to have them no one else would do. Just to be sure we checked out another band that was much more in our price range but there was no comparison. We had everyone from my parents friends, older relatives and our own friends coming up to us the entire night to tell us how they had never heard a band as great as them. I had only requested 3 songs besides the special dance songs and just let them do their thing. They played a great variety of music and played it all amazingly!!!!!! Everyone had something they enjoyed to dance to and were satisfied. One of my requests was Poison by Bel Biv Devoe. Bob wasn't sure if they would be able to accommodate that but he said they would at least try to play a piece of it...well they played the entire thing and rocked the house!!! Jaime the band leader came up to us and thanked us for requesting the song because they had wanted to do it for a long time.I was just so thrilled that they pulled it off and sounded even better than the original!!!!!!! We were lucky that our parents were able to pay for the wedding we wanted and were so incredibly generous. Since we booked Next Faze so far in advance we had the time and the means to afford them by ourselves. I understand that this is not something everyone can do but if you have the opportunity and means to book them you will be thrilled. They made the party wonderful and so much fun!!!!!!!!!!!
