thanks for the very thorough review! i had been eagerly waiting to hear what you had to say about NRC!!

in fact, today i stopped by there since i was in the neighborhood. Ida was there (first time i met her, heard a lot about her) and among the many things we were discussing, she mentioned that a bride called today raving about her wedding this past october 'and even her mother who is a maitre'd at another hall in queens couldnt find anything negative to say.' it actually crossed my mind that it could be you she was talking about!

How could I forget Spin Around Sound??? They were great too. Everyone enjoyed the music and the dance floor was packed. I had Rio and Rob and they stayed pretty close to my Play List. Did not play anything I asked them not to. They did not talk at all except when necessary. No calling people to the dance floor. They didn't have to with words the music did it by themselves.

I have to agree with a recent review...they had me nervous. The customer service was great prior to booking. Tom was on top of things. Once we booked though Tom really had me nervous. I never got a bill and missed a payment and then when I called he said just send it whenever something about it being hard to track. Most vendors billed me when a payment was do or called. Then the extensive questionaire was due a month before and we had no clue. We called a couple weeks before and he had no clue we hadn't submitted it. The two weeks before my wedding they were hard to get in touch with. We wanted to talk to someone because we submitted the questionairre by email and I had written some requests and questions and it was so hard to talk to someone. We asked to speak with Rob or Rio before the event and that didn't happen. Tom was like relax we have it under control yet we did not feel that way. He also said he had been overbooked and that was the cause of his delay which didn't calm any of my fears at all ...made it worse. I just felt like they should be more re-assuring and do a better job at customer service esp to crazed brides and grooms!

In the end, they did great. They also listened to our request and incorporate rock music and other stuff we like into the dinner and cocktail hours time rather than classical and mushy music. People liked that and so did we!

I would recommend them highly...I just wish they would improve on customer service!

jennbaby- your comment about my bod cracks me up. I am so insecure (about looks and my body)and that day I got a lot of similar comments which made me feel so good. I hate the term princess but people really make you feel like one on your wedding day. I do have to give some credit to the dress because this was the only fitted style dress that flattered my body. Any others I tried on made me look hippy...my MOH wouldn't even let me come out of the fitting room...I was so set on a traditional aline dress when I found this one and feel in love. This dress actually was easy to wear and somehow it gave me boobs!

I have to send a picture to the lady at C&H ..she was so sweet to me!

Sounds like a great day and you looked beautiful! Did you guys go back to the Holiday Inn after the reception to hangout? We are having a lot of people stay there this weekend and are hoping everyone will head into the bar and continue the party.

Oct1203-I wound up with about 166 show up. the room was set for 168. 150 will be fine. It won't look too empty. They spread out the tables nicely and make best use of the space. I do recommend having someone check in the room during the cocktail hour to see if it is set to your liking. I gave a friend the floor plan with how many at each table and number of favors but I peeked in while I was taking pictures and on tabe I was particular about wasn't exactly where I asked and they changed it on the spot. Actually DH was worried (his parents table) so he started moving it himself first! I would stick to 10 at a table and have 15 tables. I had 17 tables and could have easily elimated 2 and the room would look great!

JENHOS- We probably had about 40 people at the bar at the end of the night. I didn't get back to my room 'til after 3. (last call was about 2:30am) People were in the bar or hanging on the couches in the lobby having fun. The reason we picked the Holiday Innin Plainview was because it had a bar inside. I called about a week or two before and Laura spoke to the guy that runs the bar and he said he will make sure he stays open for us (as long as no one was out of hand of course). We got back to the hotel between 12:15-12:30ish. The bar was great for drinks. The music was kind of bad but by that point no one cared.

JENHOS - I am not sure if you are doing hotel bags but in mine I had this cute letter, telling everyone the time of the shuttle bus, inviting them to the brunch the next morning and telling them to continue the party afterwards at the bar. I think that made more people come to the bar. I put one of our enganement pictures on the letter!

we did baskets with all that info. We aren't doing a brunch. Was going to but decided against it. That was the same reason we picked that hotel.

Thanks so much for the review! You looked beautiful and so did your pictures!! I went to look into the North Club on Friday and we are going back this Friday night to book it! Who did you deal with? So far I have dealt with Jenny & Dennis and they were both absoluetely wonderful!! I loved when you said people used the word elegant! That is just the effect I am going for! I'm so happy!!!!!
