By far, the most amazing, uplifting day of my life, April1 5, 2006:

Mother Nature – A

We had an absolutely gorgeous day. I was stressing about the weather all week. On our day there were sunny skies and 70+ temperatures. We could have not asked for better weather

LI Weddings – A+++++

What else can I say besides you girls made my wedding planning so fun. I could not have done this without all of your input and help

Dress – David’s Bridal – B

It is true that the customer service is not top notch. However, being that I was not looking to break the bank on my dress, I went to David’s. The dress was gorgeous and they did a GREAT job with the alterations. They even allowed me to, 3 months before my big day, exchange my dress when I saw another one that I loved so much more than my original. I was very satisfied with David’s

Tuxedos – After Hours – C

The customer service $ucked here! I had people calling me over 5 times asking if my groomsmen had been fitted yet…. hello, check your damn computer. That was very annoying, especially when someone called me 2 days before my wedding asking me that. It may have been one of my few bridezilla moments. I went off on that lady. In the end, some of the tuxedos were a little bit big but all the men, especially my hubby, looked amazing.

Favors – Favorwarehouse.com – A

We ordered salt and pepper shakers for our favor. They were delivered timely and were so cute.

Engagement ring – Diamonds on Web.com – A

We went the online route. My DH designed my ring (with some input from me, Of course). The ring was exactly as they said it was (size wise and clarity wise) and appraised for double what he paid for it. I love my ring!!!!

Wedding Band – Reeds Jewelers – A

I found a ring I liked on their website and went to the store to buy it. The prices were reasonable and the ring is gorgeous. We also got DH’s ring here.

Hair – Kim Gazo (family friend and hairdresser who works in Northport) – A

Kim did an amazing job on my hair as well as my MOH (sister) and my SIL. She was on time and got everyone’s hair done with time to spare. I have known Kim for over 15 years so it was nice to have someone close to me there with me as I got ready for my big day.

Flowers - Burtons - A

Burtons did a great job with my flowers and gave me an amazing price. The flowers were delivered to my hotel room on time and they lasted forever. The only thing is my boquet seriously weighed like 10 pounds , but I loved my flowers

Makeup – Jacqueline Nicole – A+

Jacqueline did my makeup as well as my sister and SIL. She is such a sweet girl and she is very talented. She was on time and was fun to have around on that crazy morning. I went with airbrushing and it did stay put all day and all night. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a make-up artist.

Limos – Harbor View Limousine – A

I found this vendor in the phone book and gave Chris a call. He was sweet and professional from the first phone call. I told him what I needed and he told me I could save money by not getting a wedding package (I did not need the aisle runner or anything like that since I was getting married at the reception hall). I would up getting 2 10-passenger limos for the whole day (9 hours). We used these for the bridal party as well as to shuttle our OOT guests. The two drivers were professional, on time, and the limos were clean and well stocked with booze. I would definitely recommend this vendor.

DJ - Vinny - High Voltage - B

Vinny did a good job. He was on time and he played the music I requested. The only thing I noticed is that he did not do the centerpiece giveaway that we had discussed. I did not realize this until the end of the night. Overall, I was happy with Vinny.

Officiant – Reverend Phil – A

I found this vendor on LI weddings. He did a lovely ceremony. He was funny, witty and made me laugh countless times during the ceremony. That was key for me as I was so nervous. When he began to say “by the power vested in me……”, I started cracking up. I was laughing so hard because I did not want to cry. The reverend laughed along with me. He was wonderful.

Reception – Beach Club Estate – B

We had the ceremony as well as the reception here. The place is beautiful and we were able to have our ceremony outside (thanks mother nature) overlooking Lake Ronkonkoma. What a view!!!! There were TONS of bugs when we were taking pictures but I guess that is because we were right on the lake. Also, the place is kind of small. We had 90 people and it was perfect but I think if you are having a good amount more than that, this place is too small. My Maitre’D and Bridal Attendant were awesome, they were there along side me all day. The food was amazing, but unfortunately, I was having too much fun to have any cake. I heard it was very good as well. Overall, I was very happy with the BCE.

Hotel – Hilton Garden Inn – A

The bridal party as well as some out of town guests stayed at the Hilton in Ronkonkoma the night of the wedding (the bridal party and myself also stayed there the night before). The hotel is nice, the rooms are big and clean and they gave me a reasonable room rate. They gave me and my DH late checkout the day after the wedding (2pm) which was great since my head did not hit the pillow until 4 am. I would recommend this hotel

Travel Agent – Leslie from Travel Solutions – A

Leslie is a vendor on this site and from our first conversation she was so helpful, she got me a quote on my honeymoon quickly and gave me a great price. She was flexible with the payment terms and kept in contact with me throughout the whole planning process. She was a joy to work with.

Honeymoon – Breezes, Bahamas – B

This hotel is a super all-inclusive hotel in Nassau. I read some reviews about the hotel on trip advisor and a was surprised at the amount of negative reviews, people were saying that the pool was freezing, there were a lot of younger people there and that the food sucked. I was very skeptical. But then I began reading some reviews that were saying exactly the opposite. Well, the hotel was definitely not a high end hotel. It is in need of some serious remodeling. However my room was clean, the AC worked great and housekeeping did a good job. When we arrived, we did notice that there were tons of young kids there (probably between 18-22). It was kind of annoying but we just did our thing and did not pay much attention to the debauchery that was going on with the kids on spring break. The food at the hotel was very good, the wait staff was friendly and the drinks were nice and strong. They offered a lot of water sports with the all inclusive package. We would up going parasailing (extra charge), jet skiing (extra charge) and kayaking.

It turns out we got a great ocean front room with a magnificent view. We could also see from our balcony this trapeze that Breezes has set up. It was fun watching people flying on that trapeze. We spent a few nights in the casino that was withing walking distance from our hotel. We also went “downtown” and did some shopping. It really was a great time. We are pretty low maintenance and do not get to travel that often so we definitely made the most of it.
