My wedding was one of the greatest days of my life. And I would like to thank all of the people that made it possible and help out Long Island brides with some recommendations.

First, we got married at the Crescent Beach Club in Bayville. I would love to say a million nice things – the place is beautiful, the food is fantastic and the staff on my wedding day was great, especially my bridal attendant, Campbell. The managers there are another story; once they get your money, they start being less helpful. I did not like the way the GM spoke to me after we started writing the checks; I did not like that they forced me to feed my 10 piece band, even though the band did not want to be fed. Also, the rug to my bridal suite was soaking wet when we got there – it was shampooed that morning. Consequently, the bottom of my dress became wet. You could imagine what happened when I walked on the sand after that – the bottom of my dress was so dirty. No one at the Crescent seemed to be bothered by this. The GM also gave me a hard time for having my aunt (who is not an insured florist) do my flowers. I understand it was to cover their butts for liability reasons, but how often do you hear stories of people getting hurt by a bridal bouquet?? The GM also told me when we first booked the place that the cake was included, 'just bring in a picture of what you want and we'll make it'. He forgot to add that most cakes would be an extra fee. I will say this though – thank goodness they have back-up generators. There was a big storm that night and the area apparently lost power, but the Crescent had generators and the party was not disturbed – unlike our hotel that night (The Harrison House – beautiful hotel, horrible staff).

Our photographer, Dan Wagner, was the best money spent on our wedding. He was nice, professional and did a great job. He took great candid photos - which I love. Not only did we get a CD of every picture he took (which was over 700), but our 'proofs' were 4x6 and had no writing on them and we got to keep them all!! And we got our proofs back just a few days after we came back home from our honeymoon. We got to choose 100 pictures for our album, which I have heard from others is more than most. Because everything was digital, he emailed me exactly what the layout of the album would be before it was printed and I was able to make adjustments. And our album was the nicest I have seen and everyone who has seen it wishes they had hired him. His assistant, Louis, was very nice too. Our honeymoon was the cheapest part of the whole wedding because it was off season. We went to St. Kitts and stayed at the Marriott. It being off season was lucky for us – the weather was beautiful, it was not too crowded and we got a great room for a great price. The Marriott was so nice and there was a lot to do. Finding a JOP was difficult, but we received a recommendation from a friend I worked with and loved Deb as soon as we met her. Debra Viola is an interfaith minister. She is really easy-going and funny. We were very happy to have her perform our ceremony.

The Wedding Salon of Manhasset is where I bought my dress. The salon & staff are very nice and the dresses are all classy and gorgeous. They carry all of the top designers. My aunt did our flowers and I would love to recommend her, but she only does it for 'fun'. But the florist at the Milleridge Inn, http://www.milleridge.com/milleridge_florist_section.cfm, did our arch for our ceremony on the beach – it was beautiful and they set it up exactly as the Crescent wanted them to (they were very specific about the set-up for liability reasons).

I almost forgot out band – fabulous!!!! They were from Franklin Wayne Music http://www.franklinwaynemusic.com . We choose Vision, but Franklin Wayne has lots of great bands (my friend had Timepiece). I cannot tell you how many people called us after our wedding to get the info for our band. EVERYONE loved them! Again, pricey, but you get what you pay for and they were worth every penny – including the meals!

Sorry the GM gave you such a hard time. I had such a wonderful experience at the Crescent Beach Club. Everything was wonderful, especially on our wedding day. I also enjoyed working with everyone there. I guess some people aren't as pleasant to deal with there.
