great review!
It definetly is BUT if you can pry your fingers away, it really helps. My alst week i did NADA. when people called em and said 'OMG this or that,' my response was 'Call a peon. I am the bride. I'm management.'
Calmest week of the entire wedding planning.

I posted this on the NW boards but know ladies check here more for ideas so though I would RP. If you're thinking of doing this, take a peek!---
OK so you were warned that this was coming and hopefully you have your tomatoes ready

On May 17th we finally did our Day After Shoot with Laura Ryan Photography and it was one of the best decisions we ever made and we are so happy that we took the opportunity to just do it, despite our apprehensions that some friends and family might consider it “weird” to get all decked out wedding style again almost a year after..
I will try to make this as brief as possible so you can get on to the pictures but first I have to say a few things.
1.THANK YOU to Laura of Laura Ryan Photography who set this up for us and gave us the opportunity to really show our personalities through photo we will treasure always. Thank you also to Rachel of Merge Weddings in Boston, who came along to enhance the experience and talk about the wackiness of New Yorkers to help us get the job done
. And a special thanks to Yesi (Mrs.Q –in 2007 for lending me her red sash. It really made me love my dress AT LAST! Only took me almost a year lol. I kept getting comments on it from random people and little girls on the subway called me a princess bride lol.2.If you are considering doing this because you are unhappy with your wedding portraits as we were, just DO IT. It’s NOT the same as recapturing the day but you make tons of new memories and it’s kind of *****************. Pete and I climbed trees, swung around in grass, showed Romeo and Juliet how it was done lol…Just great fun and great times. Do NOT miss out if it is something you really want to do because you’re concerned it might be considered “stupid” or “weird.” We’re glad we did it because for us it helped to really seal the “wedding” chapter for us and now we’re done and over it and can get on to the better married stuff. ?
3.If you’re concerned about your DH being uncomfortable, I can tell you that Pete was the most anti-day-after husband you would have ever met. He didn’t want to do this at all, but was willing to do it for my sake (sweet man :kiss?. When we got there that morning he was snappy and irritable because he is really uncomfortable with being the center of attention. But by the end of the day, you could see the difference in the pictures. He was having such a good time by then and it was largely due in part to Laura and Rachel of Merge Weddings who tagged along, because they’re down to earth girls with NO airs about them. He really liked Laura because they talked about video games among other things, so she got him to relax which is something our Wedding Day Photographer was unable to do.
Some of our funny highlights of the day were we took a subway in the wrong direction because we were all excited lol and ended up having to go all the way downtown and whipping back around to get to our first stop. We also had people snapping pics with camera phones everywhere and one woman was bold enough to push past Laura to try and take a pic of my dress and DROPPED her camera on the subway floor! Sad but true, we all grinned.
OK so before we finally get to the pics I’m just going to give a break down of the places we shot at because I have received a lot of FMs about the locations and experience. Still fell free to FM me, but these are the locations round about.
1-Subway (we just started there)
2-Times Square in the 42nd street station
3-Grand Central Terminal (You may need to get a permit. They hassled us a little until I gave big Bride eyes lol and then they let us because they were having a good time)
4-Just random spots along the city on the way to the Met
5-MET Museum (We wanted to use the steps but just our luck, they were doing renovations!
So we found some cool spots outside by the windows and walls opposite the fountains for some of my favorite shots. We just look sooo good
JK)6-Central Park (We spent the most time here. The only recognizable places are Belvedere Castle and the Romeo and Juliet statue outside of the Shakespeare Gardens)
Done! I hope you enjoy the pics.
*NOTE* ALl the pics here are by Laura Ran Photography. I did not post any of Rachel's here not to cause confusion.
----
Subway –waiting for our train to take us further downtown so we could finally get back uptown after our blooper.

Times Square 42nd Street terminal:

Grand Central: This was REALLY difficult at first because it was full exposire. People were snapping pictures left and right so we were both a little uncomfortable, but it set the mood for the rest of the day. After that we were 'pro's' at having our pics taken. Trial by fire lol.
We got married July 29th so we liked this picture

Random spots on our way to the MET.

We got alot of 'Congratulations!': and a few of 'Wpo are you guys?' as if we were some famous couple. I had to restrain Pete from cheerfully answerng 'Just two morons in a wedding dress.:

It was like playing dress up and that fantasy really made me much more comfortable than I thought I would be.
By the MET Museum:
One of my FAVORITE Pics of Pete..SOOO high fashion FINE! But he's alll mine ladies. I don't share well.
I love these-they remind me of a fashion magazine spread.

Some fun detail shots:

Central Park: We took tons in here. Just a great place to be creative.
One of my FAVES!
LOVE this shot! Rachel almost got taken out by a bike ride lol so it had better be a good one! We were mimiccking the statue of Romeo and Juliet, infamous lovers.
My FAVORITE shot!
LOL Rachel and Laura loved that Pete scrambled right up that tree showing his childhood skills. He's so cute.

These were fun: Rachel and Laura decided to take us by these musicians and they had the kids in the tunnel throw up their hands at random and shout lol . We had NO Idea we had like 50 kids around us. It was awesome!

Belvedere Castle:

Last pics of the day:
SO thats it! I hope you guys enjoy them. We have a ton more but waaaay too many to put into the review. These are the ebst ones but if you want to see them all let me know and I can fm you the link.
THANKS AGAIN LAURA! You rock!
