We have already purchased our honeymoon tickets to Hawaii and Las Vegas. We purchased regular coach class tickets, with the hopes of upgrading to first class, using our frequent flyer miles. At the time of purchasing the tickets, we were told we would be able to do this. All of a sudden, we are being told that our tickets are not upgradeable, because they were purchased at a 'bulk fare.' I have been on the phone with the frequent flyer people, the travel agent, and the airlines, and no one wants to take responsibility for misinforming us. We really really wanted to go first class, and have been accumulating miles for this. Does anyone out there know what else we can do?

Re: Airline Ticket Help!!
I'm sure you don't want to hear this, but -- you could exchange your tickets. I wouldn't suggest this though -- even with a full-fare coach ticket you can't be 100% sure you'll get an upgrade. Me and my husband used FF miles from the start for first class tickets (60,000 eek!) and one leg of our trip was in coach until 5 minutes before the flight -- with some concern we might not even sit next to each other. My advice, if you absolutely have-to-have first class, pay for it. Otherwise, just see how it works out when you show up at the airport and remember how lucky you are!

Re: Airline Ticket Help!!
Since you are not getting married until late October, you should probably be able to revise your honeymoon package with your Travel Agent without major revision fees. Bulk airfares are never upgradeable with miles. Check with the airline frequent flyer desk and see if seat upgrades are available on your flights first, then purchase the appropriate published airfare and upgrade with your miles. Hope this helps.
