Camera Man Question

Camera Man Question

Someone mentioned on a previous thread of the brides section, that you should know or meet rather, the camera person to see if you have a good vibe with them since you will be with this person all day. I have no experience on this side, but I envisioned the camera person being no where near me, like behind the scenes but catching all the special moments of our day. I kind of wanted it to be this way for us. I despise the video camera. I cringe everytime I see someone coming in my direction with one at family parties. Do any videographers do this for people like me? Or must they be at your every step with the photographer?

Re: Camera Man Question

Our wedding videos are 97% candid style. We are totally unobtrusive. The other 3% is totally up to the bride & groom if they want certain shots.
We feel that your wedding day is a wonderful memory that you want to keep alive through video....in motion. No scripts, no lines, no acting.
We are just there to capture what really happened.

Should you meet the videographer........yes.
Should you meet and like any vendor.....yes.
You don't want just anyone showing up for you on your wedding day.

Creativity in videography happens in the editing room. You must be a creative shooter to capture all of those special details, while staying unobrusive.
Then your creativity follows you into the editing room...........that's where it all comes together.

When you shop for your videographer, ask for refrences. That will give you an idea of how unobtrusive they really are!

Good Luck and if you have any further questions, please feel free to email me.

Re: Camera Man Question

Regarding videos, I would listen to Marie. She knows what she's talking about. I am using Wild Rose for my wedding on November 3 and I am soooo excited about how our video will turn out. Marie and Bill are such nice people and they do such beautiful work, you should definately check them out. They were the first Videographers we saw, and we booked them on the spot. I actually had tears in my eyes from the demo they showed us.

If you are looking for someone to do your video you should call Wild Rose.
