cocktail party location?

I'm looknig to have a cocktail party -- for a 60th b-day actually (not a wedding). Any locations that can be rented for this type of party as opposed to a full reception!

Thanks!

Corbin & Reynolds in Long Beach ( directly across from the rail road station) has a private party room up stairs.
