DJ vs. Lighting?

Ok...I need help!!!

My fiancee and I went to see a DJ tonight and told them I wanted everything including lighting. We got a price, not bad under 3000...however my dilema is that I want more in the lighting that I don't think the DJ offers, monograms, lighing all over the room, etc. As all of you girls can understand, I am trying to keep to a budget.

So, I guess I am wondering if anyone has booked lighting or special effects and some prices?!
