Florist Question
Good morning, vendors! My wedding is June 2011. I already have my gown and I plan to start looking for BM dresses this May or June.
Do I need to pick out the BM dresses before I start making floral appointments? Or can i go with a general idea, and the florist will adjust the flowers to match the exact color I end up with? What do you think is the best approach?
Can you also give me some insight on how floral appointments go and what happens at one?
Thank you

Re: Florist Question
Sorry to butt in but can someone send me this info as well. We're going to look for bridesmaids dresses in the next month or SO but we have an idea of what color and style for the dresses.I just want to get an idea of what we should be budgeting for all flowers.
TIA!

Re: Florist Question
Although I cannot speak for other florists, it is our philosophy after 20 years of doing bridal work, that a bride does NOT have to have her color scheme picked out to interview florists. Any trained florist can work within all color palettes. We believe that you should choose a florist like a photographer, by carefully examining photographs of their past wedding work and going with the person who matches your 'style' and personality. If you do have tear sheets from magazines or a swatch, it is a good idea to bring them along to a meeting, along with a general idea of what type of resources you would like to potentially commit to the wedding decor (i.e. do you want a bentley, a cadillac, a toyota, or a mini--they are all cars, but how much do the flower and design elements mean to you and your wedding).
The last thing that will be helpful in a florists meeting is to have a list of your bridal party, numbers of bridesmaids, parents, groomsmen, etc.
I hope that was helpful--good luck,
Lynn from Florisan
