Flowers.. c'mon its a January wedding

Hello, I went to a pretty well known florist today and got a pretty high quote. I am only having 1 maid of honor, one brides maid, 4 groomsmen, myself and groom- as well as 2 mothers and 2 fathers. I will only need rose petals for the tables (about 18 tables)@ the reception, maybe 1 arrangement for the placecards and possibly minimal church decor. I was quoted $1900. and that is for the beginning of January...
I think that is a bit steep since I don't have a big bridal party, and I am not doing any centerpieces. Can anyone do considerably better than that?
