HELP! need new venue for 10/12/2013

Hi there-

My best friend had her wedding planned for October 12 2013 at a private residence in Hampton Bays. She was informed this week that they suffered about $200k in flood damage and found out that they should never have been holding weddings at the venue to begin with- so she needs to find a new venue. She is devastated as she'd hired all her vendors already (the caterer, tents, photographer, etc.) She was just about to put the stamps on her save the dates.

If anyone has any leads on a similar style venue- private residence on eastern long island with capacity for 125 -150 guests...please send them my way via this forum or directly to [email protected].

I appreciate any help you can offer!! I feel so terrible for my friend and really want to be her bridesmaid this year.

I have performed several weddings on the east end in private homes that my couples have rented. They always have such a wonderful feel when you can just move in for the weekend and submerse yourself in the event experience from rehearsal to day after brunch.

Your request said two very important things. That the tent and caterer have already been booked. My guess is that if these are local to the original location, companies that frequently serve the east end, they will know where the homes for rent are... because they have worked there before. I would ask those vendors first and then look at their recommendations.

If your friend wants to contact me I can dig through my records and try to pull up the addresses or the information on the planners that have been on site with me when I have done similar ceremonies.

In my experience, when things change they have a way of working better than originally planned. Besides when you are marrying the right person there is nothing that can make your wedding day anything but the greatest most beautiful day of your life. Just ask any of my brides who were wed the weekend right after Sandy hit.
