How do I coordinate Band & DJ from a different co at my reception?

I am going to set up a meeting with the band and dj to discuss all the logistics of my reception. Is there anything in particular I should be mentioning, besides when each one plays what set, the songs we want played and not played? I want the transition between them to run smoothly. Any suggestions?
