How do you download songs from the interent?

How do you download songs from the interent?

I am dancing with my Dad to 'To Sir With Love' and would love to download it so that I can play it at work for everyone. They claim to have never heard it but I know it is one of those songs that you they will go 'Oh that Song'.

This link is the download for WINMX, which is an MP3 search and player for pcs. Once it's downloaded, you can search for any song and download it as well as play it. I work in the internet field and found this player to be the best for a pc.

You can also go to
http://www.kazaa.com
and download that program as well. This way you have another way to find the song. Winmax and Kazaa operate different ways. This will give you another opportunity to download the song. If you have any question or need any help feel free to email me. I use both programs.

Hi! Our band has actually played that song, so I have it on a CD. The artist is 'Lulu.' If you have any trouble downloading the song, e-mail me directly at [email protected] and I will e-mail you the MP3 of the song. From there you can leave it on your hard drive or burn it on to a CD.

Great song for a father/bride dance!!!

I am a Kazaa fan all the way ! Kazaa is very reminiscent (sp) to the late napster search engine. Check it out, it's simple. Visit www.Kazaa.com Click on download KMD. That simple, after that follow the download and launch steps, read the directions, there pretty good about spelling things out so that everyone can use it.

Ask around at work I am sure someone knows all about Kazaa and can help you through it ! Or if you'd like , you can drop me an e-mail, but I will say that its easier to walk through it on the phone.

I know a lot of people use kazaa...but just want to warn the vendors on this one...it works like a virus and it will install things onto your harddrive!! Also it 'spies' on you and keeps track of what you are looking at (songs and internet) so you get more pop-ups...

This is true. VERY IMPORTANT! I wouldn't say it works like a virus , but you can contract virus' from downloading this program. When you download music, its a file thats being downloaded through the internet. If that file contains an imbedded virus, then presto, you've got yourself a virus now too. The best way to protect yourself from this , is to have a virus protection program that runs active whenever your on the computer (for those with cable modem).
ALSO VERY IMPORTANT : LOG OFF KAZAA before closing the program. Just 'X'ing out will not log you off. Being that Kazaa is automatically upon installation a desktop program , it will run in your task bar (the little bar on the lower right hand side of your screen) even AFTER closing the program the normal way ! This will allow extensive 'spying', so please, ALWAYS , click , FILE, DISCONNECT, before 'X' ing out. And check the 'task bar' to ensure that the icon is not present their either , if it is, right click it, and then click , 'close kazaa'.

Well thats all folks. My few words of KAZAA wisdom. Oh, ain't the internet grand.

I am new to 'burning CD's' and plan on doing this for my wedding favors and I have been downloading certain songs (not wedding) and they come out a mess, skipping. Is this normal because you are downloading from other people? Any suggestions? Thank you.

Dennis had an excellent suggestion about closing the Kazaa program.The best virus protection is from NORTON. I had Mc Afee anti virus and if did not stop some of the newest viruses. The new Norton Anti Virus program
has solved all the problems. Regarding the question of downloads skipping make sure the song quality is at least 128 .When you down load place your mouse over the box to the left of the song -it will give you the technical terms of the download. Your problem is probably from downloading songs at a lesser quality. If you stay at least at a quality of 128 you should have no problem. Also - always listen to the entire song you download before buringing it onto a cd-just as a precaution. Every once in a while one of my DJ's will find a problem with a download-so always check the song before you transfer it to CD.Hope this helps.

Thank you for getting back to me, I definately make sure that I always choose 128 quality to dowload and the songs are still coming out bad. I delete the website from my computer last night and re-downloaded it and same problem. I don't know what is going on with it. Kazaa is what I am using.

One idea that might help with Kazaa -when you select a song to down load- select several different locations to download the same song from. This way if there is a problem with one source you still can get the song from several others. Try 4 or 5 sources on Kazaa. This way you should be able to get at least one good product. I can't think of anything else that could be causing the problem. You might contact Kazaa customer service direct-explain your problem and maby they can give you a different answer or help.
