How to know if you are reserving too far in advance ????
My wedding is not until Sept. 2003. But I am a very organized perdon and detail oriented. My concern is with leaving deposits too early... What if the vendor goes out of business? But then if I dont resserve iot early.. what If I loose them ?? Any suggestions ???

As I'm sure that most of us have bookings well into 2003, you are definitely not too early. If you want a particular venue or a vendor who is a single op, you run the risk of losing the opportunity by waiting too long. Although nothing in life is certain and there really are no guarantees, by choosing a reputable venue and wedding professionals who are experienced and have served the industry for many years, chances are that you will be just fine.
There is also something to be said for relying upon your instincts and intuition... they are usually right! Trust them and you'll make the right choices.

Ditto to what Michael said. Not much to add, he said it well.
And .... yesterday I got a call for a wedding for this Sunday! And yes, it so happens that we can cover them (they didn't like the attitude of the photographer they hired.)
Bottom line is if you want someone specific then book early, or go by your instincts and it is likely to work out (as Michael so eloquently said.)

You are definitely not arranging too far in advance. Most vendors book 1 1/2 to 2 years in advance.Check their track record-how long they have been in business. Get recommendations from their clients and call the clients. Please feel free to visit my website http://www.stanwiest.com.
If you send me your address I will be happy to send you a package of detailed information. Let me know if you are looking for Band or DJ.

With any of the reputable vendors who have a track record of many years you will not have a problem of them going out of business. I would be careful of
any brand new operations or any vendors with prices
that are 'too good to be true' because they probabl are. You always get what you pay for. In a bargain price situation you will always be losing something.
I hope this helps.

Most professionals do book at least one year in advance. If you want a top professional, it is wise to book in advance. The longer you wait, the less choices you have.
