Interested in a New Years Eve wedding (12/31/12)

Hi, just wondering if this date would be discounted due to the holiday, winter season and week day it falls on... or if it would be more expensive due to the fact it is NYE. How would the venue price for this night be compared to an average Saturday in the winter?
Thanks!

Re: Interested in a New Years Eve wedding (12/31/12)

its the 'cheapest' time of year to get married at most places but the most expensive night of the whole month!!!

Most halls have NYE parties and make well over 125+ per person those nights and they pack the rooms.
Some places hate having them and we had a few places beg us to have their wedding there because weddings are alot calmer then random people coming together for a nye party-- they have to also worry about dj, food security all these things they wouldnt if they had a wedding instead that night

Again, thanks so much for your very helpful feedback!! I just got engaged last weekend, so I am yet to start calling places. Glad to know that places are open to the idea and would even beg to have us!

From non scientific experience, I think that it would be much more expensive unless it were a daytime wedding. Certain vendors have told me that they increase their pricing dramatically (in past conversations)due to their wanting to be with their own families or the inconvenience of getting around. It doesn't matter to me, personally, as long as delivery logistics aren't a nightmare (i.e. like getting married in the middle of Times Square)
