Kauai Vs Maui

My FH and I are having difficulty deciding on which island we want to go to for our honeymoon. I would love to hear some feedback on the pros of each island.

We are thinking that in Kauai we may get bored, but in Maui we may over schedule ourselves. We love nature and seeing waterfalls and rainforests.

Is one island more expensive than another?
We only want to visit one island.

Please don't FM me because I think this info may be helpful to other brides.

Dear Samira,
Kauai - Hawaii's Island Of Discovery!
This island's laid-back lifestyle complements its tropical landscape. The island is filled with thundering waterfalls, heavenly beaches, tropical forests and the only navigable rivers in Hawaii. Just north of the Lihue Airport (on the east coast), you will find some of the island's best swimming. Traveling up the east coast, you will pass deluxe hotels, restaurants, shops and attractions like the Wailua River and Wailua Falls. A favorite is the 3-mile boat ride up the Wailua River to the Fern Grotto. On the North Shore, you will find the Princeville area which has breathtaking beaches and famous golf courses. The small towns on the west side of the island offer 28 miles of hiking trails in Koke'e State Park and the 3,500 ft. Waimea Canyon (famous for horseback riding). Kauai is a very romantic island offering beautiful tropical landscapes along with hiking, bicycling, whale watching, snorkeling and kayaking - along with golf and spa activities.

Maui - Hawaii's Magic Isle!
This island offers the best of all vacation worlds - daytime adventures, some of the best golf in the world, stimulating nightlife, fine dining and tropical weather. Maui is consistently voted 'Best Island in the World' by Conde Nast Traveler and Travel and Leisure Magazines. In the Lahaina Area, you will find Maui's History in famous art galleries, trendy restaurants and the harbor, where snorkel cruises depart by day and sunset cruises depart by evening. The West Coast of Maui offers a wide range of accommodations and the famous areas of Kaanapali and Kapalua. South are the resort areas of Wailea and Makena. The Kahului Area is home to the Maui Arts & Cultural Center and the Queen Kaahumanu Center, which are both near the airport. Maui is probably best known for its famous 'Road to Hana'. This 53 mile winding road passes lush greenery and fertile red soil. Lush rainforests and black sand beaches, waterfalls and blowholes will entrhall visitors along the way. You can visit the cool upcountry area of Haleakala National Park to see horses grazing. You can survey the entire island from atop the 10,000ft. Haleakala Crater. Between November and April, it is not unusual to see humpback whales from this area.

An option for you would be to stay on one island and visit the other for a full day trip with pre-planned tours. The flight times are short and it is definitely do-able.
Hope this helps!
