Re: List of Pictures to Take
Well, each photographer is going to be different.
What I usually tell my clients is to make a list of anyone they would like your formals with. Any group combos they can think of. Especially - if it's non-family related - such as a college group of friends, etc. The wedding day can be crazy, and I like to have a list to make sure no photos are forgotten.
Usually, most of us all have a standard formula we follow - that we will do no matter what. As an example:
Bride with Mom Bride with Dad Bride with both parents. Bride with bridesmaids Bride with each bridesmaid individually. Entire wedding party group shot. Groom with Groomsmen Groom with each groomsman individually Groom with parents.
I especially appreciate when clients give me detailed lists when there is family that is re-married etc. Some want step parents in photos some don't. Situations of the sort are very good to know pre-wedding.
Every once and a while I get an client who copies everything out of a Martha Stewart bridal guide. Things such as:
Bride and groom at the alter Bride and groom walking out of church Bride and groom lighting the unity candle.
This we don't need as it's standard with experience in our craft to know what shots we need to take to tell your story.
So be sure to communicate with your photographer on what their standard shots are and how much of detailed of a list they would like from you.
The more communication you can have with your photographer pre-wedding the better your photography schedule will go the day of.
