Looking to switch photographers

Looking to switch photographers

We booked our photographer over a year ago but now we have been hearing bad things and would like to go with someone else. We had a video and photography package. I heard from some other girls that some companies will deduct whatever deposit you left with your other company from a similar package of theirs. I would especially like to hear from companies that would do this for us seeing how we are on a budget but really care about how our pictures turn out.

... Maybe you just have a case of the jitters or buyer's remorse. Planning a wedding can be stressful, and it's easy to second guess yourself.

I've never heard anything negative about your vendor. I assume you and your fiance met with the vendor and felt comfortable enough to sign a contract and leave a deposit.

My suggestion is to relax. Of course if you still feel uneasy you could look into having your photographer do an engagement session at some pretty outdoor location. Most likely you and your future husband will enjoy the session and like the resulting photos.

In the meantime, it's not really fair to the photographer to cast doubt on his/her work prior to having worked with them.

Regarding asking another photographer to lower their price by the amount you gave as a deposit to your first photographer -- well that's something I've never heard of. Working with a photographer who would operate like this, in my opinion, only invites a greater chance of problems down the road.

I hope some of this helps. Try not to get too stressed -- you will be amazed at how well all your planning and vendors will come together on your wedding day.

Cheers,
Dan
