just got engaged and I am starting to stress out. what I would like: -Would like to get married summer 2003 -simple but elegant ( I dont want the garter belt, bouquet throwing, no wedding factories , no cheesiness, etc) -looking for casual elegance since we are in our late 30's...this is his second, my first. -Guests 75-100 - On tight budget - Want to get married outdoors either garden or near beach, near water -We live in NYC area - Is there a quaint BandB , inn, hotel, nice restaurant, where I could have the ceremony and reception onsite ? Has to be convenient for people, NJ,Rockland,Queens, LI guests or people can stay over if they would like but not be too expensive. Food has to excellent - maybe elegant luncheon/brunch - maybe rent inn.. -Gurney's inn sounds great but expensive ?

Gurney's is about as far East as you can get, so wouldn't qualify as convenient unless your guests stay over.
Halfway in between is The Three Village Inn in Stony Brook (Suffolk County) and would fit most of your criteria (and near me!)

Did you check Gurney's? I know it's far out on the Island but I think it's pretty reasonable. I would call them and ask for their options.
Also, Captain Bill's in Bay Shore is nice. You can also rent a Mansion or a big house in the Hamptons. I just shot a wedding near West Hampton. The bride rented the whole house (9 bedrooms) for the entire week for her immediate family. It all took place in the backyard around the inground pool. It was very, very nice. She did not have alot of guests. She is a bride on this website so maybe when she gets back from her honeymoon she'll post and then if your interested, you can chat and get all the info you need. I don't know what the cost was.
I do know that Captain Bill's is very nice. You might want to check them out first. Good Luck! Marie

The Three Village Inn has rooms upstairs and guest cottages in the back (there are also bed + breakfasts nearby if you need more rooms)
The staff dresses up in colonial costumes and the Sound is right across the street. I think their pricing is pretty reasonable.

Three Village Inn would be perfect for you.Very Quaint. They decorate for each season of the year-very pretty at the Holioday Time. They have enough rooms for many guests.Just make sure you contact them well in advance to reserve rooms and to coordinate the date. The Harborside Room overlooks the water and is very private. Nothing is rushed and you are the only wedding going on at the time. hello there is also a place in West Hampton called west hampton bath and tennis if i remember right they have a hotel on premise and the ceremony can be done right off the beach. Lands End in Sayville also has a beach view with dock side cocktails and an outside gazebo for ceremonies. There is also a place in Bayville callled the Walls Wharf. I've eaten there although I don't know the specifics on the accomidations up there. It's right on the beach. If I think of any more I'll let you know. Heather
