'oof day' wedding receptions/cocktail reception for traditional day

Hello --
In an effort to try to bring down reception costs, I'm wondering if anyone knows of sites that would consider drastically reducing costs for a Thursday night or Friday daytime wedding. Or, if there are places that would be open to a three-hour cocktail reception in lieu of a full buffet or sit-down affair?

I don't know about lower prices but you might want to check out Gurney's.

We video taped a wedding at Gurney's last August, Friday night and the bride & groom raved about them, the food, the service. everything! I think they just had food passed around during cocktail and they did not have any fish for dinner.

They got married right on the beach. If your wedding date is at a good time of year, you might want to check them out.
