I just got my contract from my photographer and the schedule of payments he has set up is 25% down now, the week before the wedding another 65%, and then when I pick up my proofs the last 10%. So I will pay the entire amount before receiving any pics. I was wondering how your payment schedules are set up. I'm a little apprehensive about having the whole amount paid before getting my pictures. Is this standard or should I ask him to rearrange our payment schedule so I pay some of the money when I receive my pictures? Thanks in advance....

Dear July bride,
I would definitly ask to pay at least 1/2 when you pick up the proofs. Here in my office, we only ask for $100 deposit, and then the rest is paid when you are satisfied at the end of the party. Good luck with all of your wedding planning, I hope this helps.

Does that include albums or is it for wedding day photography only?
The only time I have full payment when picking up proofs is for a proof only package. If albums are included in the package then there would be a balance left over for when you work on the albums and the final balance would only be due on album pick up.
