What type of medium format cameras do wedding photographers most often use....is it customary for a photographer to use a 35mm camera?
Would the proofs from a medium format camera ever be 4x6...or only 5x5?
Thanks so much!

If you asking what Med. format brand of camera, there are a few that are most popular...Mamiya, Bronica, Hassenblad. There is also a difference between 2 1/4 Med. format and 4x4.5 Med. format.
2 1/4 produces a square negative and a 5x5 PROOF and must be cropped to create standard frame sizes, e.g. 5x7, 8x10,and so on.
A 4x4.5 Med. format camera produces a rectangular negative and a 4x5 PROOF consistent with standard frame sizes(horizontally and vertically).
We all have our own preferences for the cameras we use and why we use them. 35mm is good to mix in some B&W photo journalism, however, you will not get the same quality of reprints as you would from Med. format negatives. I hope this info helps.

Artisan gave an excellent answer. All I would add is that it's virtually impossible to be really spontaneous with medium format compared to zoom lenses and autofocus on 35mm. I've been enlarging 35mm to 12x12, 11x14, and even 14x14 and 20x24! 35 is just much quicker and versatile for this kind of work.
