Anyone who has experience with Encore... Is it customary for this company to charge extra money if you want to change your wording after seeing the proof? Any info you can give would be appreciated.

Re: Question about invites...
They most likely will not charge for the line change, however, if you request to see a new proof, the vendor will be charged.
Keep in mind that the manufacturers are in business also, and the reason they charge retail vendors (like us) for these changes is because they want to keep multiple changes (i.e. picking new typestyles, etc.) to a minimum. When I meet with couples--I tell them to pick carefully when selecting these options to avoid any additional charges.

Re: Question about invites...
Proofing is an option when ordering your invitations. When you make a change from your original order the company will change you for the change.
I find that a proof is rarely necessary only because all wedding invitations are proofed before they go to press.
Please keep in mind that requesting a proof can delay your order a day or two.
Best of luck to the two of you on your special day!
