For anyone who has been to a Sandals resort, is it truely worth it to upgrade to the more expensive rooms? Are they really worth the additional money? We are looking at the Sandals in the Bahamas.....

My husband and I went to Sandals at Dunns River for our honeymoon. We had a standard room and it was very nice. Honestly, we were so busy doing things outside the room (they have lots of activities going on at all times!), we didn't really spend that much time hanging out there.

I went to Sandals Dunns River for my honeymoon 8 years ago and we had a suite ( I believe it was approx $6000.) There were only 10 suites and we were treated extra special, we had our own little cocktail parties, our own concierage (Frederick) who made all our dinner arrangements and was always checking to make sure everything was ok. The suite had a living room, kitchen, 2 balconies (2 views) and 2 bathrooms. We were spoiled! Then we went to Sandals St.Lucia (it wasn''t as nice) and we had a standard room which was also fine ( I really didn''t care for St.Lucia) and it is true when are you really ever in the room? We also went to Sandals in the Bahamas and I loved it! In the Bahamas its nice because it is only 15 minutes from the airport (Dunns River and St.Lucia were a horrible one hour drive) and the Bahamas also has shuttle buses to the casinos. In the Bahamas we had the a standard room (ground floor) in one of the villas and it was beautiful so don''t go crazy because all the rooms in the Bahamas are beautiful, and with casino''s on the Island you''ll probably be there even less! Also make sure you go on the trip to swim with the dolphins (sign up for it right away they run out of spaces to actually swim with them) I love Sandals so much that now that I have 2 kids I am going to Beaches Turks and Caicos March3 (same company) Have a great trip!
