The Riviera In Massapequa
I have worked there lmany times. The lobby for photos is above average. Outdoors the garden and water view is spectacular. In front of the buildinhg, there is a spiral staircase that is fabulous for photos if you take the time to make dramatic compositions with modern posing and lighting. Inside the reception room, there is a balcony that works great..shooting for photos in both directions (photographing up to a romeo-and-juliet balacony scene and photographing down for candids, bouquet-throwing, and doing spectacular group photographs of bride and groom surrounded by EVERYBODY from their wedding reception...the famous fisheye lens works great here.... Good luck...

Re: The Riviera In Massapequa
If you are having a band or dj - be aware that the sound of the band or dj where they are performing as well as in the dancing area is totally different from the sound the guests dining will hear. It is important that you only use a band or dj that is familiar with the acousitic uniqueness of the room for best results. I have a sound analysis computer -this eliminates the problems of microphone feed back and harsh qualities. It enables me to conform to the sound of the room rather than having sound problems.I spoke about this on Channel 12 television last November. Stan Wiest A. I have had only positive experiences at the Riviera. The staff has been friendly and food fine when I've attended.

The Riviera is a very nice setting for an outdoor ceremony and indoor reception. There are various settings for both formal and family photos.

Re: The Riviera In Massapequa
Some good friends of ours recently went to a wedding there on a Friday night about two weeks ago. The couple stated that the food was very good including the dinner-they had filet mignon.
I believe they only hold one function there at a time and that's a great feature of the facility. Also, I sing professionally and have worked there many times, and I also felt it was a nice place at a good price. If you are having a summer affair, the use of the outdoor deck is beautiful especially at sunset!
