time constraint

We are having a 1/2 hour wedding ceremony at 3:30 and the cocktail hour starts at 5:00 1/2 mile away. Our photographer tells us that we need to move something to give him an extra hour. Has anyone else had (or have) this problem? The church and the reception hall are both firm on their times. We don't want to see each other before the ceremony but we are willing to miss the cocktail hour. What can we do?

Re: time constraint

If you are willing to miss the cocktail hour I guess that is the only way you are going to be able to do it, but also think about all the other people that need to be in photographs with you, the bridal party, and families on both sides, that means they too will miss the cocktail hour..... You could always take some pictures before the ceremony like you and the girls you and your side of the family this way there aren't a ton of pics to be taken during the cocktail hour. Is there an area where the ceremony is that you can photograph right afterwards? In all honesty I think your best bet is to take all the pictures before the ceremony. There still will be that look when you walk down the ailse, it will take your breath away because it is so real at that time. Hope this helps....
