Quick question... How many weeks/months before the wedding are your services confirmed by the bride/groom??? I'm trying to get a handle on things and just not sure of the appropriate time frame... 1 month? 2 months? 2 weeks? I'm just lost. Thank you in advance!

Re: Vendor Question
I have brides who confirm with me a month before, a week before, even days before. Some are the same brides, and I honestly don't mind at all. If this will help to ease their mind (and yours) confirm with your vendors often, a lot of money is spent on a wedding and you should feel comfortable knowing that your money is being spent on the right vendors and that your wedding day will be perfect. Don't ever feel like you're being a nag or a nuissance (and a vendor shouldn't make you feel this way either). Vendors are here to provide you a service, just remember that- we should be easing your mind, and I believe most of us here are more than happy to help the brides out in anyway we can. I hope this helps a little. Happy planning, Laura--LA Productions (631)473-0271 or [email protected]

Re: Vendor Question
Thank you!
So if I called 6 months before, 1 month before and a few days before, that's not annoying???
Thanks again!

Re: Vendor Question
I wouldn't be annoyed by the calls at all. I will say that I have witnessed an occassional officiant 'forgetting' to show up for a ceremony and have been called to fill in for a DJ that 'forgot' the date (BTW the vendors were indeed reputable). It can happen, so there is nothing wrong with assuring yourself, especially a few days before!

Re: Vendor Question
This is a very special and important day for you, follow up as often as you feel comfortable. You spend a lot of time and money selecting your vendors. Most vendors will give you basic time lines, but again a follow up never hurts.

Re: Vendor Question
Hi Octbride03,
I am in contact with the brides all the time. You should never think twice about calling or emailing your vendor for any reason.
Any vendor you book will be glad to hear from you.
One week prior to the wedding is when I offically start calling to confirm everything.
Good Luck! Marie

Re: Vendor Question
Brides can contact me as often as they wish regarding their band,dj or ceremony musicians. Every aspect of the wedding should be perfect. One way to eliminate the stress and worry is to regularly contact your vendors. Some brides are comfortable with an occasional phone call contact-other brides want to be in touch on a regular basis. Either way is fine- what ever works best for each individual bride as long as it eliminates your worries.Better to be safe than sorry.
