Re: Wondering....for any vendor!
Let me preface this with this is only my opinion and I am sure that you're not talking about parking an RV in someones driveway and becoming their new best friend till the wedding day.
With that said, we are all used to dealing with nervous brides. It is the biggest day of your life, of course you want some contact, you're going to want your calls and emails answered quickly, and you are going to want guidance in making all the decisions that go into the final product of what a vendor will be doing for you. It is not uncommon and I think that if you just TELL THEM you're a double checker, explain that you may need a little more contact than most, I think your vendors will be happy to accommodate you.
We want you to be happy and as stress free as you can be during a very stressful time. We want you to be satisfied with us. I know many brides think wedding vendors are a bunch of mercenaries, but it has been my experience that the vast majority of us truly take pride in their work. They desire to give you the wedding of your dreams and to bask in the glow of everything being perfect for you. Although we may do many weddings a year, we know that we only have one shot at each one and it has to be perfect.
I met with a bride on Sunday who told me 'were going to work you for your money!' And I was really happy to hear it, because I know they'll be happy and comfortable from start to finish.
Hopefully this answers your question and lets you breathe a little easier. And hopefully I didn't offend anyone with my answer.
Wishing you stress free planning and a long and happy marriage.

Re: Wondering....for any vendor!
Hi,
Congratulations on your engagement and upcoming wedding.
I would suggest your contacting any vendor that you book early on again at 1 year before your wedding date, 6 months before. At that point in time you should ask them when it's best to contact them again.
If you have questions that you'd like to ask write them down before you speak with them, so that you don't forget when you get caught up in conversation with the vendor.
Don't be too hard on yourself, your wedding's one of, it not the most important day in your life to date. Your emotion is all part of the excitement for the big day!
Best of luck to you...and at 1 year or 9 months or 6 months before your wedding date, contact me regarding save the date magnets. My quality is just beautiful and you'll work directly with me - the owner of the company.
Take a look at my site,. I offer free online previews, so when you're ready I could create a proof for you.

I can answer your question from a photographer's viewpoint.
Once we book a wedding we usually meet with you sometime before the wedding to do an engagement sitting. After that, we speak again two weeks before when we go over the schedule for that day. Other than that you only need to speak with us if there is a change in your plans or if you just want to call with a question or a hello.
Good luck with all of your plans. I hope this was helpful.
