Yet another tipping question

Yet another tipping question

I really don't know who to tip or how much. Also I keep seeing that if the vendor is the owner they shouldn't get a tip. So vendors, please give your honest advice. How much should I tip the following people ( if neccesaary)?: We are having a wedding of about 80 people with no special add ons except for a percussionist at our reception:
Florist
DJ Percussionist
2 ceremony musicians
Maitre d
officiant
photographer
videographer and assistant
bridal attendant

Re: Yet another tipping question

Dear Jeanette and Mark:

Tipping is a tough question because everyone has a different opinion.

I don't know where you read not to tip owners, but that is just not true. My haircutter owns the shop and I always tip him. If they are paying the overhead of being the business owner and charging you the same price as other hairdressers why shouldn't he or she receive a tip.

Everyone on your list should receive a gratuity except the assistant to the vendor. The main videographer or photographer will take care of their assistant with a portion of the gratuity they receive from you.

The amount of gratuity is what you can afford. I have received gratuities anywhere from $100. - $500. as the wedding coordinator/planner and owner of the company. No matter what the amount is it is always greatly appreciated!
