Book Club

Book Club

I was just amazed at how many of us read. Since we live all over and have crazy schedules, why not form a book club on here. It will give me motivation to find more time to read instead of stupid TV. We'd have to start with bookd none of us have read yet (which might be hard) right?

Is anyone else interested in this? And then we can discuss the book the following week?

I'd give it a shot...I have A.D.D. when it comes to most books though - if it doesn't 'grab' me in the beginning I won't even bother.

Sounds like we have a good amount of people and I'm sure others will join as well.

Any suggestions for the first book? And how is this going to work - read a certain amount by a certain date?

we read the entire book and then discuss it... i cant stop reading to discuss it, id rather just do the whole book at once...

I guess the time allowed to read the book depends on the size of the book.

Anyone have any suggestions on our first book?

Anyone have any ideas? I JUST started reading 'Heaven is for Real' like seriously, I'm on page like 10. If everyone hasn't read that yet, we can do that as our first book.

It's about a little boy who died in the hospital, went to heaven but survived and is talking about it. Even on page 10 and I'm really into it, I just need to find 10 minutes to read more (hoping during lunch today) LOL!

Otherwise, book lovers suggest the next book we can read that everyone is dying to read but hasn't yet.

Regy, I'm told it's inspirational. The little boy is telling his parents so innocent and he's much better now. He talks about sitting on Jesus' lap and angels and what Heaven is like but in an uplifting type way.

My SIL and her MIL read it and LOVED IT!

Yeah, this is why I hadn't responded that I'd join in. I'm so picky about the books I read and if I don't want to read it, I dig in my heels and then really have to slog through it. I rarely ever read a serious book. Give me vampires and b!tchy chicklit anyday!

Yeah, this describes me too. A friend recommended 'For One More Day' by Mitch Albom and I painstakingly read it. Yeah, it was good, but definitely not my kind of book.
