Aruba: Marriott Surf Club
Looking for some honest opinions from girls that have honeymooned there....is a good honeymoon spot? Or is it super crowded with lots of families??I'm torn on making a decision because most of the people that tell me they love it are families.
Thanks in advance!

We're going to Aruba and staying at the Bucuti Beach Resort - its a small boutuque hotel, away from the hi-rise section. They do not allow any guests under the age of 18 and it looks super romatic. I can't wait!!! If you're worried about crowds, you might want to look into it.

I would tend to think that since you are the beg of September there won't be as many kids. They are all starting school around that time so it's less likey the parents would pull them out for vaca.

Forgot to add, we have friends that have a timeshare at the Marriott and they LOVE it there - they go a couple of times a year. They do not have kids and have never mentioned a lot of kids there as a problem.

Re: Aruba: Marriott Surf Club
I sent you a long email a few months ago on Aruba .... I go every year for my birthday for the last 15 years!Marriott is amazing - definately some families, but couples as well. If you don't want a 100% couples resort - I'd go this way and stay here. To get a Marriott property through interval or RCI (not sure which one you guys have) is kinda unheard of because as you said they come up quickly and then someone takes them so there gone in a day or hours!! It's happened to me.
All in all you'll have an amazing honeymoon and be on cloud nine with your hubby!! SO I wouldn't worry about it at all! Honestly.
Hope that helps!!

Re: Aruba: Marriott Surf Club
I've been there... there are a lot of families, but Aruba is what you make of it... it can be quite romantic. I will say, if you are foodies, do not miss it; the restaurants are great! Madame Jeanette's is soo romantic and they served the best steak I've ever had with hollandaise sauce- a caloric indulgence! Also do the restaurant at the lighthouse at sundown. Skip the place where you eat on the beach with the water over your feet- it's uber pricey and the food wasn't very good. Make a reservation and go there for drinks. The casino has a fabulous show that is Cirque du Soleil meets Vegas. As for the Surf Club itself, it's a beautiful facility. I love the lazy river with the swim up bar!Welcome New Vendors
