I had the world's most horrific experience at a bridal shop recently and would like to post the specifics. Are there any consequences to posting my experience and my opinion of the store????

Re: Dress shopping nightmare!!!!
Please tell. Last saturday I had the dress shop from HELL when I went looking!!! So please feel free to vent away
as long as you haven't bought from them...no problems... (otherwise they have too much control of your dress...if they even read these boards...)

Re: Dress shopping nightmare!!!!
Sorry took so long...went to the movies. OK-Here we go...But I warn - its a long one:
First, the appointment was for my sister. When we set the appoint we explained she was looking for a sheath fitted flowing type of dress in a specific budget. They said Fine...come on in. When we got their our 'helper' proceeded to tell us that they don't carry that type of dress especially not in that budget and we would be better off at one of their other locations. Bad vibe right from the start.
Anyway, I showed her a list of some designers and their style numbers and she said 'we don't work that way deary'. After prodding she finally went to search for some dresses that matched our description. Not what sis was looking for. So sis asked me to go see if I could find some dresses because I better understood what she was looking for. Now I know at this store they do not like you to look around so I would quickly peer into the closets to see if they had any dresses in that style. Totally got Busted!!!! The helper came storming out and said' we would like if you would not TOUCH the dresses. You knew that was our policy... you KNEW that!' OK...my bad...: but that was a little over the top obnoxious. So I sat back.
Sis came out with first dress and we actually liked it. Stunned we asked how much it cost. Her remark??? 'Are we going to need to know the cost of EVERY dress we try on??' We said 'YES'. So she reluctantly told us. Then sis wanted to try on a veil. Helper said condescendingly 'Can we Wait till we find the right dress to start trying on head pieces!' We said 'NO!...with this type of dress you need to see the whole picture'. So she got the veil. Then she walked away and the veil started to fall off. So I got up to help reposition it...Helper came back, grabbed my arm and said 'Let me do that...you sit there.'
OK not to keep rambling but here are a few more...when she left sis alone in the dressing room for a long time sis went ahead and put a dress on. Got yelled at. When we asked if they had a Fall 2000 Jim Hjelm dress she replied...you are not going to find a year 2000 dress deary because it is the year 2.0.0.3!!! What the @#$% do you say to something like that??? Oh really is it??
So thank you for letting me vent. I just found this experience to be out of control. How in the world do these people stay in business.
P.S. When helper realized that sis was really falling in love with a dress that was $1,000 over the original budget she became sweet as pie...how ironic!!!

Re: Dress shopping nightmare!!!!
Ugh. I am sorry that you had to deal with such rude and obnoxious behavior on the part of your 'helper.' I would be super annoyed. The way to get a sale is not to treat your customers as if they are stupid and somehow not 'worthy' of your service.
I hope that your sister's future dress shopping experiences are much more enjoyable.

Re: Dress shopping nightmare!!!!
OMG
sounds like my experience at a place last week. I walked in with a specific picture and the guy picked out dresses for me and each dress was uglier then the one before. I told him what I DO NOT want and he brought me out the complete opposite.
i know exactly how you felt.
Feel free to vent on here anytime. Believe me we all understand or have been through it

Re: Dress shopping nightmare!!!!
Adrienne- I am so sorry to hear that. I can't believe some people. You are doing THEM the favor by looking at their dresses. Could you do me a favor and FM me the name of this place so that I can be sure to not bring my business there? Thanks!

That is so HORRIBLE. I'm so sorry you girls had to go through that. Please reassure your sis that not all places are like that.
