03/29/2008 - Winter Garden Pavillion

Colors are going to be Yellow, White and Green

I just met with the fox hollow florist on Sunday and was very impressed. I told him I'm going for an 'Spring Romance' feeling and that I want as many candles in that room as they can put without calling the fire department!

I did a mock table this past wekend with my mom. We are doing one fat candle in a hurricane in the middle and then like 5 bud vases around it scattered with tulips in them- one or two per vase- and then smaller votives all over the middle. it looked awesome when we did it! :)

I spoke to the florist who does the ceremony there and he said they do all white flowers and its a variety of different kinds that he uses. It sounded very pretty and its great for me cus Im doing all white flowers.

Also we talked to Arthur there and he said they do the centerpeices for the cocktail hour tables. He said they do a floating flower or petels and candles- can'[t remember if they float the candles or not- but it sounded pretty.

yea when I spoke to the house florist this weekend he said he would do tulips on the cocktail tables and when I peaked into the WGP, it was set up for a cocktail hour and sure enough there were tulips on the tables. It looked sooooooo pretty!

I've been wanting to check out the house Florist...but Burton's was also reccomended to me....so I'll probably check out both. I'm into LOTS and LOTS of candles too!!

Do you know if they have standard ceremony flowers or can I get any color flower that I'd like?? I should really talk to them about this I guess.

Ever since I booked the hall I've been lazy about looking into other vendors....the hall search took alot out of me.... haha.

Has anyone checked out PWP yet? Is anyone using them? I got this 'bridal points' card in the mail from them saying if I use their house vendors that I can get points toward free stuff afterward....but I haven't really looked that deeply into it yet, I just read the letter that came with the card.

Anyway...I'm having my ceremony at the FH as well, in the Garden Terrace Room.

I wonder if we have freak weather that day if they'll do it outside?.....but that's probably a really stupid idea. I actually do hope that we get a 'dusting' of snow that day ( A DUSTING NOT A SNOW STORM...YOU HEAR THAT MOTHER NATURE!!!!!) I think it would make for some really pretty pictures and I'll freeze my butt off for that!!

I'm in the Briar Fox room for the cocktail hour and the Garden Terrace for the reception. I've been searching high and low for indoor FH ceremony pictures but alas I've got nothin' (except for the picture on the website of course).

My colors are black, white and red...but I ONLY want the flowers to be red and nothing else....maybe the cocktail napkins but I don't know. I just want there to be this like, really stark contrast between the overall Black and White theme and the flowers. I dunno...it looks good in my head haha.

To all the WGP brides...I LOVE that room, it's the reason I originally went to FH but my party was too big but I'm happy with what I got. I'm really psyched about all the fireplaces (especially in the Briar Fox room!!) because since my wedding is in the winter it feels really, really cozy. I'm just totally in love with the place!!!

DId anyone get any add-ons for their CH or reception?? They really didn't tell us what their add-ons were soooooo if I find out something I didn't know before I'm definetly calling them up!! I did however get the mini-vienesse (sp??).

YES!!! I will be attending the Bridal Show on the 28th!!! I think it's a Wednesday.

My colors are going to be brown white and gold. I want very color flowers inspired by the changing color of leaves. I thought this was a very pretty CP

I think their prices range from $60- $130 a head depending on room and night of the week and time of year. I think they are pretty resonable.

I was told that Sept. and Oct. were their peak season. A Saturday night was $99pp so about $130 including. With a gaurantee of 130. The part I didn't like is that the room only holds 150 with dancing according to them. If you invite 150 and 20% don't show that's only 120 guests.

My original date was the 25th for the Sat. but it was too much! We switched to Sunday night and actually got a 1 1/2 hour CH!

My ceremony will be in the Lantern Gallery.

My CH in Rose Hunt Room. I got a pianist to play because there is a baby grand in the room.

I heard a rumor that Arthur was fired... anyone else hear this?
