Re: Night of wedding--Hotel
We booked a block at the Holiday Inn at Mac Authur. We didn't fill our block so we had to pay for our room. We told them that we were the bride and groom and they gave us a beautiful King sized bed with a large bathroom, couch and chaise lounge, fridge, desk and plenty of closet space for me to hang my dress and DH his tux, for $139. My BIL paid the same and got a room half the size with a queen size bed. We were so happy with our room, it was just enough. Plus we got early check in an LATE check out. Normally late check out is 1 or 2 instead of 11. We had the room until 4pm!!!

We are planning to stay at a hotel in the city called The W Hotel - The Court. It's a bit on the expensive side, ~$300/night, but it's sooo nice. We'll see how much of a stinge I am when I go to book though...

Re: Night of wedding--Hotel
we stayed at the Executive Inn at Woodbury; it was close to our RH and they provided a free shuttle. We also did a breakfast buffet there the next morning. The bridal suite was cool, a duplex. I think it cost us around $160. Worth it!

We didn't book our RH yet.. but I know that the Garden City hotel would be nice if our reception is in Nassau.. for Suffolk, Hamlet Windwatch has a really nice honeymoon/bridal suite.

I'm a huge fan of W hotels. I havent stayed at the court, though. If you arent set on it...also consider the W in Union Square. It's my fave of all the Ws in NYC. But keep in mind...thjeir regular rooms are not very spacious...really on the small side. But if you are looking for a funky hotel...it's a great spot. They have larger rooms...but even pricier than the 300/400 you pay for standard rooms.
