Since I've seen these going around for a bunch of venues, I figured I'd add one for the Riviera.
Here's a place where all us Rivierans (yes just made that up) can talk about anything and everything regarding our upcoming weddings at the Riviera.
Past Brides: we'd LOVE to hear about your experiences there as well and if you can give us any pointers in planning our big days there
Ok ladies... Ready... Set... GO!

Ok, I'll go. We're getting married there next June. Right now our big chore is hashing out the guest list. I want smaller, he wants bigger.
We're going to the Riviera Friday to look at it again, and really count out tables and see how many people will comfortably fit there. I love going there, I get happy every time I walk inside!!

I feel the same way =) My date is May 7, 2011.
The have some tables that seem smaller than others but everytime i've been there it looks like the can fit 11 to a table (but that's such an odd number that I'm gonna just say 10 to a table).
And by my count the last time I was there, the outdoor cocktail area has 18 tables with umbrellas and 3 tables without umbrellas (the 3 are on that top section when you first walk out from the indoor cocktail area. Just in case you need to know for centerpiece purposes.

Ok- I am getting married there May 20 2011 and I can't wait. Hopefully it is a nice day so I can get married under the Gazebo. FH is Jewish and I am Catholic so we thought this would be perfect.
I have the same issue I want small and Fiancé wants big- this might sound wrong but I want to know some of the people at my own wedding- I mean I am paying for it!!!
So when I booked Michelle told us their suggested vendors know the facility very well so the band knows how the music will sound off of the wood, and the photographers know how the lighting works in there. I want to look at a bunch of places but I have this fear that they wont come out as good if I use an outsider. Is this crazy?
If anyone hears about the next showcase there please let me know. I was sick for the one in June and missed it =(

Not sure if anyone else has been lurking around trying to find past Riviera brides (I know I have) but I figured this would be an easier way to keep track of them. (I'm only gonna go back as far as 2008). HTH you ladies get some good feedback/ideas for your own weddings. Whenever I see any other recent weddings, I will post them for yah =)
Re: *~~~~OFFICIAL RIVIERA OF MASSAPEQUA THREAD~~~~*
Wow great idea, thanks for putting this together.
I have to admit I have looked at the XFINALLYX review like 10 times already. Love she included a TON of photos!
I am calling Riviera this week to make an appt. can't wait!

My FH and I are doing a May / June 2011 on a Thurs.. ... we will be official on Sept 30 :)
is there a big difference between Fri & Sat?
also are you ladies using in-house florist? any freebie given? many past brides mention they threw in a free cart, pasta station at signing; and then free fountain, coffee bar and chateau briand.

I would say anywhere from $3-$5 per person diifference. I personally did have anything added on by the Riviera but I had won a free filet mignon entree and gourmet pasta station at their last bridal showcase so I will be getting those free.

Does anyone have a list of their linen choices?
I am specifically looking for a pale yellow and a green (either apple or something lighter).

I didnt end up booking at the riveria but I did attend it and almost booked it. Fiance has too big of a family we had done a food tasting and we loved it. Also, we actually booked the house dj Then til now. I highly recommend him. The night we went we were able to meet him and hear him dj live.

I am going back this weekend to give them the other half of my deposit and I am very excited. FH can't make it so I might take my sister to see it but I can't wait.
I'm going right before an even starts so I will get to see the room all set up again- the first time it was set up all funky because they were having a Bar-Mitzvah. I hope they allow me to take pictures! I want to start my scrap book thing!
I will try to get some information from them about their linens if you want- I am interested to see if they have anything like a Watermelon color.
Lets hope it’s a nice day Saturday!

Re: *~~~~OFFICIAL RIVIERA OF MASSAPEQUA THREAD~~~~*
I just emailed them over the weekend for their linen choices. Here is their reply:
The colors of the napkins are: ivory, white, chocolate/champagne damask, pale blue/ivory damask, light pink, green, navy, and black; our tableclothes are: ivory, white, chocolate/champagne damask, pale blue/ivory damask, and black.
Hope this helps!

I have to check out the color of the green napkins when I go there to see if it's what I'm lookling for but what do you girls think of this....
My colors are green and yellow (more on the lighter side). Would it look weird doing black tablecloths with green napkins? I am planning on mounting the menus I made on yellow cardstock (see my photo albums for mockup) so that will help incorporate my yellow and my centerpieces are going to be yellow and green (see photo album).
Is the black going to look weird with those springy colors or make the room look too dark?

Hi everyone!! I've been lurking for awhile, but finally booked the Riviera recently, so I wanted to say hello to my fellow Riviera brides My wedding date is actually on Thursday, May 26, 2011...it's an off day, but we were able to save some money that way!
Looking forward to talking to you all soon

Hmmm, with the room being dark as is, I wouldn't do black linens. JMO! If you need to purchase, check out efavormart.com. That's where we got ours. It was cheaper than renting!
