Don't know about Commack or Kings Park, but in Smithtown I've heard that Casa Rustica and H20 are great places...

How many people are you looking to have at the RD? In Commack there is a place called Ciao Baby (it's fantastic) I'm actually going there for dinner tonight. You can also check La Famiglia in Smithtown, great food. Casa Rustica was good too but not better than the other two. At La Famiglia they do a really great family style type dinner. They bring out huge trays of food and everyone can sample everything. The appetizer platters were amazing.

Good luck

I'm not sure what their catering cost is. I've only been there for regular dinners. I don't think they're too bad

Unless they have a seperate room or you would rent out the whole place ciaso baby's is way too loud for a RD(JMO). Their food is really good. How about the bonwit inn, the green room, old street pub or faraday's.

We just ate at & booked Orlando's II the other night. The food was amazing!!! I think it's smithtown. It's on 25 just west of Lake Ave. Their prices were really good and we get a separate room!

Also, The Garden Grill in Smithtown near the library is really good and they have a separate room also. They are more expensive, though.

if you want something a little less expensive, you could try The Old Street Pub (in the waldbaum's shopping center on 25).

The bread w/ cheese dip alone is worth it!

I think Casa Rustica is a good choice - JMO, but I thought La Familia was just OK, and H2O slightly over priced. If you don't mind traveling up a bit further to Pt. Jeff - I would recommend Pasta Pasta. It has great Italian food, and its a really cozy place. You could probably get the front room that they close off with a shimmery sheer gold curtain.

Me and the FH had our first day there, and now we go there on the same day in January every year for our 'Janniversary'

Definitely check out the Garden Grill...we had a 60th bday brunch for my mom there and a christening party for my niece and nephew. The food is excellent and the price is reasonable. Its very victorian and cozy. The only drawback is that the bathroom is on the 2nd floor so if you have any older or handicapped people it could be a problem.

As for Ciao Baby...I didn't know they did catering. I love it there so if they do catering definitely check it out. Otherwise, they don't take reservations so it wouldn't be a good idea to have a rehearsal dinner there. And yes, it is pretty loud and may not be intimate enough for a rehearsal dinner.

I also highly suggest Nocello's in Northport. We went to a friend's RD there and it was perfect (piano player on Thursday evenings is wonderful!). Then our engagement party was there and it was wonderful! I've also been there for a shower and again, it was great!

FM me for more suggestions or questions, and good luck!

Ciao Baby is great food, but not the best atmosphere for a big group of people to talk and whatnot. If you're looking for something not expensive and good, why don't you look into Sun Dried Tomato in Nesconset- they added on a separate room, so I'm sure they could accomodate you. Kings Park HAD Anna Maria's (inexpensive, good italian food), but they had trouble with the landlord after like 15 years and are moving- I'll keep you posted with a new address.

Northport/Fort Salonga has Intermezzo (I think there might be one of these in Smithtown also, with a separate small room).

I could probably think a lot more- I grew up in Smithtown and I live in the Northport area now, and my school is in Huntington...so FM me if you want!

Re: Need help PLEASE! Need names of restaraunts in Commack/Kings Park/Smithtown for Rehearsal Dinner

Okay, here is my list. Since you said cost is a factor, I didn't put anything too expensive on here- they are all very reasonably priced. You didn't tell me how many people you are having, so some of these places might not be able to accommodate a huge group:

Hauppauge: (I know this wasn't on your list of places, but it is really close by):

(1) Polini's- very good food. Two rooms on the inside of the restaurant, and a cute outside area in the back. I've seen some baby/bridal showers here- always looks fun.

(2) La Strada- VERY good food. This is a little more expensive than Polini's, but not bad at all.

Huntington:

(1) Tellos- they have an upstairs room for separate parties, if you're having a big group. I went to a going away party here over the summer with about 50 people- they did a very nice job, and it's reasonably priced.

(2) Coco's- Great views, good food.

(3) Tutto Pazzo- I believe they have a separate party room, and nice views also.

Commack:

(1) Red Dish- I don't believe they have a separate room, so I guess it depends how many people you're having. My brother catered his eparty from here, very good. (same owners as Sun Dried Tomato Cafe in Nesconset- I'm pretty sure- but totally different food).

(2) Mannino's- I've actually never been here, but my best friend used to work right by it and go there all of the time- she says it is good.

St. James:

(1) Bella Vita City Grill

(2) Intermezzo- the same one that is in Fort Salonga/ Northport is also in St. James

(3) Lotus East- I don't know if you'd consider Chinese, but it's a good chinese restaurant

East Northport:

(1) Larkfield Cafe- very good pasta. Larkfield Pasta is next door, where they make all of the pasta for the restaurant. You could go and buy some of their pasta from the store to see if you like it.

(2) Torcello's- traditional Italian.

Kings Park:

(1) Martino's Pizza & Rest.- this is a VERY casual pizza place and restaurant, with a separate room attached in the back. lots of people in and out though, to pick up pizzas.

(2) Anna Maria's- like I said before, they are in the process of moving. they said they are trying to stay in Kings Park, but could be Northport. I'm on their list of customers to contact with new info when they sign a lease, so I'll let you know.

(3) Intermezzo

(4) Elijah Churchill's Public House- cute outside area, but if the whether is bad the inside is TINY

(5) Nocello- some of the other girls have recommended this restaurant. I've never been there, so I can't say good or bad.

(6) NOT for your RD ($$), but if you and FH are looking for some place to go, Maroni's in Northport is sooo good- you have to get the tasting menu- it's $$, but well worth it.

Nesconset:

(1) Sun Dried Tomato Cafe

(2) Akropolis- if you'd consider Greek, this is my fav Greek place in the area. They have a big room in the back, always having parties there.

(3) JT's Corner Cafe- small restaurant, so it depends how many people you are having. The food is really good. Also, they don't have a liquor license, so they give free wine with dinner (which could help your pocket), and you can bring whatever wine you want and there is no corking fee. Pretty much every table brings a few bottles. :)

Greenlawn: (again, not on your list, but 10 mins from Kings Park up Pulaski Road):

(1) Ruvo. good food, very nice atmosphere. Service is slow, which is bad if you want a quick dinner, but good if you want to linger.

Okay, that's my story and I'm sticking to it! Hope it helps!
