How much do you think you paid for a photographer after everything
I liked Verdi so much, but they start at $4500! Is that typical???

I think that is middle of the road - there are definitely photogs below and above that price. We are paying $7,000 before tax and tip for our photogs....but this was something we really wanted to splurge on.

I love Verdi, but I feel it is to expensive. If you have the money go for it because you wont be disappointed. My cousin and my FH boss had Verdi and the album is great. I heard their videographer is around $3000. I really like spellman Studios, you should check them out. The lowest package (just photography is $3900. That includes everything. Good Luck!!!

I didn't check out Verdi because I knew it would be too expensive. We're using Twelfth Night and are paying around $2K for 2 photographers...if we had your budget, we would have gone with Willi Wong or Lina Jang. But we're happy with our choice.

Let's see...their starting price was $3500, then with our album we went over by about $480. So....close to $4,000.
Had I realized that I'd want 100 photos in my album and it would cost that much...I would have gone with a photographer whose work I liked better.

My FB&SIL paid total $5000 for photo only. They got their album, 2 parent albums, a few portraits, basic thank you's and all proofs. They used Proline.
My personal opinion...the work was mediocare at best. Not knocking Proline, but the pics were all a little fuzzy. Also, their portrait shots were taken inside, in the 'down stairs' cocktail hr or ceremony room (not sure) at Chateau Briand, that had a beautiful collage painted on the wall, however the photographer's flash (used on ALL shots) was a little over powering and cast a VERY noticable shadow.
Just my opinion.
I have received quotes of that amount (or less) for photo and video. Granted I only want albums, no big portaits.

We paid approx $5400 for our package, then approx $150 in tips and an additional $1,200 for the SIXTY extra photos we wanted to include in our album (in addition to the 72 we got with the pacakge to begin with). So, I'd say an approximate totoal of somewhere in the neighborhood of $7,000.
But, this was one of the most important things to me (video too) so I wanted to spend a little more, and I am SO glad I did.

We're paying about $9,000 - But the Photographer was our first priority and we agreed to splurge b/c we loved the work - We're using Perceptions.

wow i feel so much better.. i thought i spent way too much on a photographer and videographer, we wanted to splurge since after the wedding this is what will be what we have left to look at... were spending about 8,000 thats with a photographer/photojournalist and videographer... plus we loved the work of the place, plus were getting the magazine layout for the album.
