QOTD- do you have or do you see yourself ever having a same-sex 'crush' (not necessarily sexual)

so my fh and his coworkers have a nickname for the husband of a female coworker. they call him 'the man-crush' b.c one of the guys is half in love with the spouse (though he himself is married)

it's not at all a sexual thing- they just have many things in common and he thinks he's 'so cool' I think it's just hilarious and since it's slow, I thought I'd pose the question to you girls.

I know it's weird, but hey, I didn't make it up!

FH made a comment the other day about how almost every woman will admit that they would be gay for Angelina Jolie.
I know that's not what you're saying, though.

ETS- Does this guy get teased becaus ehe is so enamorred with this guy? And the teasers are the ones that use the phrase 'man crush'?
Because that's funny.

I'll ans. my own question and say that I think it could be possible for this to happen to me if I found someone to deeply admire...though my male friends spouses have yet to inspire that in me! LOL

yay I love NWR questions of the day.

I have had a few crushes on chicks, in real life and some famous faces. Although I never told the real life girl about it. She didn't speak much English... but I was extra nice to her at school - she didn't have too many friends when she first came in.

Hmmm, I don't have much to add outside of that!

I admit it, I would be a lesbian for Angelina Jolie and for Salma Hayek (who I saw in person, and she is just as stunning in person).

As for a female crush of sorts, I guess an old co-worker of mine. She was very cool, and we got along great. I sort of coveted some of her assets, so to speak. Does that qualify?

actually, I think I may have a crush on my friend's mom. she was born in France and I just LOVE the way she says my name...it's so cute.

her brother's not to shabby either!

What do you mean by 'coveted some of her assets?'

there are people that i think are beautiful - but my feeling towards them are more of a respect and admiration of their beauty

however with that said - i dont think i could ever use the word crush..crush only goes with guys for me

She had a large chest. While mine are not too shabby, they put mine to shame. It didn't help that most shirts she wore struggled to hold the girls in.

Almost made me feel like I was bisexual or something to even notice it!!

yes - i currently dont - but i have in the past.

i never quite thought of it as a crush - but it was usually a person who accomplished soemthing that i had wished i would or could.

I agree.

There's a definitive line between admiration for someone you respect and find beautiful and admiration (crush) for someone you just want to 'eff' b/c they're 'hot'....

see, I think this shows the difference bet. men & women.

fh and the boys automatically associate this with 'crush' while we are just like, here's a really great girl...wow- I'm so glad to be friends with her....yadda yad...

by adding the 'crush' I guess it has a sexual connotation, which in reality is absent from the feeling.

without being to detailed i will say that i think i might have had a girlfriend once .LOL
we had a better relationship than either one of us had with our boyfriends at the time....hmmmm

Glad I found my FH, he is the BEST

crush

puppy love: temporary love of an adolescent

squash: to compress with violence, out of natural shape or condition; 'crush an aluminum can'; 'squeeze a lemon'

There's a HUGE difference between men and women in that aspect.

THIS IS JUST MY OPINION!!!!!!!!!!!

Men get along with other men without intentions of 'longer-term' friendships...ie: a man can go to a bar and sit with any other man there and watch the football game and get along...leave later on the evening and forget having met the man.

Women are 'deeper' than that, can BARELY go to the bathroom by themselves, and when them meet a woman that they don't 'Hate' (b/c she's prettier, smarter, more successful) they want to be with that woman and involve her in a friendship.
