Why is it that when a new bride comes on here people feel the need to 'show them how we roll'? REPRIMAND them for using caps and then proceed to try and be sweet and say I hope you find all the help you need here on LIW. Just because some people have pet peeves about certain things doesnt mean that others are bothered by it. If that was me getting that message for my first post I wouldnt bother to come on here anymore. All I am saying is that we should all be nice and let them learn the ropes without being critized the minute that they do something wrong in one person or the others eyes. Sorry just had to VENT!

Re: NOT TRYING TO START DRAMA BUT....
someone responded to a new girls post that she shouldnt use caps because it was hard to read and then proceeded to be all sweet and say I hope you find all the help you need on LIW. I just dont think that telling a bride oh i know that you dont know how we roll is how we should respond to things.

Re: NOT TRYING TO START DRAMA BUT....
I gotta say, I went back and saw the post you're referring to and I really don't think the poster was trying to be rude. Maybe you're taking 'how we roll' the wrong way, but I didn't take it so bad. I mean, she has a point and a LOT of other brides on here have mentioned the same thing before about the caps. At least to me, it didn't sound rude.

Thanks for calling me out
Its not a matter of 'how we roll' - its a matter of giving advice on ways to get more responses - I didnt see this post, but its pretty much the forum etiquette that caps are yelling. I know I have a hard time reading caps as well... And I';m sure the person who posted about the caps, and welcoming her at the same time, meant to do so in the best of intentions....
Unless it was Stephanie. she's just plain mean.

Re: NOT TRYING TO START DRAMA BUT....
I read both threads, and I don't think she was being rude or meant any wrong by the 'how we roll' comment. It is a lot easier to read posts when they're not in all caps, and it didn't seem out of line to me to remind the new bride of this. I'm sure the new bride was just excited to be here, and I think Stephanie was genuine by saying she hopes the new bride finds help on the boards. JMO.

She's new on here..She doesnt know these things. I dont think its right that we reprimand people for not knowing that caps is yelling. It bothers me when a new bride comes on here and right away someone says oh by the way..you did this wrong. We are here to get ideas and help each other not to police caps or no caps. It aggravates me that people do that... Don't you think that if someone did that to you you would hesitate to post again? I would and I did..I didnt post for a long time because said person did the same thing to me!

the thing is - how will she know if no one tells her? The nice thing to do is to politely let her know - and then let her do what she wants with the info...
When I 1st came on, people told me how things are done here too - in nice ways, and it was helpful - and seeing that I am over 8000 posts at this point, never got discouraged....

Re: NOT TRYING TO START DRAMA BUT....
Oh, come on. I didn't read the post, but anyone who has any experience at all with the Internet should know that all caps means yelling--not just on LIW, but everywhere. It's helpful to tell her that. She'll get fewer responses, after all. I know I don't read posts that are all in caps.
