Place card ideas

I went to a wedding where the bride used toothpicks wrapped with a label and a pinwheel on top and placed them in small garden instead of place cards. I loved the idea but but I am getting married on the water so I want to do something w/ that theme.....any ideas

i want to do something similar with the grass, with the actual card being plantable, but i was going to use a flower spike and a mini watering can.

heh, both my starfish placecards and pewter crabs are already posted!

Somewhere else on this site there is a review showing origami boats as placecards.... I don't want to think about the papercuts they got from that one!

i love those - they are adorable. (i'm referring to the crab placecard picture a few posts above - i didn't realize it wouldn't 'quote' when i clicked 'quote' and i'm too lazy to fix it)

Perfect, this is a good thread to start bec I still dont know how to have my place card table displayed. I am thinking a grass display.

An 07 bride (AMJA) made this on her own, which is the best pc display I have ever seen

And my florist suggested a calla lillie display like this:

I like these ideas! I was going to say you could almost do the same thing as you mentioned but instead of a 'garden' put it on a 'beach' with umbrellas or start fish/crabs. something beachy.

OR! You can also have a pool of water and have floating boats/row boats with peoples names on it. and on the boats you could have the table number on it! haha, thats cool, but it would probably be too much work?

BTW LOVEEEEE that daisy pc display. I wish it wre closer up so I could see more of it and find out what was used. Are they real flowers? Fake? How did they put the table number and names on there?

Went AMJA's album and found better close up photos of the place cards. I soooo may have to steal this! Our theme is gersber/garden and its just perfect. Fits right in with our watering can cardbox! You can get those flower die cuts at AC Moore and Micheals for anyone interested. I LOVE THIS AMJA!!!! Great job!

Yeah what an amazing job. I dont know if I can built something like this. I wonder if my florist can do something like this and I will just insert the cards. I LOVE THIS!!!!!! If you do it are you going to use real dirl or styrofoam underneath the grass. Are you doing real grass? I would want real grass

Went AMJA's album and found better close up photos of the place cards. I soooo may have to steal this! Our theme is gersber/garden and its just perfect. Fits right in with our watering can cardbox! You can get those flower die cuts at AC Moore and Micheals for anyone interested. I LOVE THIS AMJA!!!! Great job!

OMG AnneMarie these look AMAZING! I can just see you behind the little counter with blades of grass...

seriously tho- AMAZING JOB! my MOH might do something similar so I might be FMing you to ask where you bought all your material.

ohhhhhhhhhh I love that CD table. Is it music CD's or picture CD's. That is great bec that is something your guest would not throw out.

You can probably use wheatgrass for the grass/flower CP. We are going to be growing wheatgrass for our CP's so we will have to try it and see how it works out. Or you can probably by it froma local nursery.

Ohhhhh if those are put on popsicles or something.... guests could use them as a fan too for when they get hot!
